Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

0.5 l bottle. Overpowering aroma and flavor of chocolate malt. Some sharp alcohols and citrusy american hops in the background. Firm bitterness.

Bottle shared with GregClow, Jerc, and Mabel,. Greg’s bottle, or Jer’s bottle? (I think?). Wow - very nutty bitter aroma. Very very dark brown with a small slightly off-white head. Taste is incredible - so burnt and so nutty. Toasty. Medium body, nice carbonation and mouthfeel. Perfectly hopped as well. Quite simply one of the best brown ales you’ll ever have - a ton of flavour at 6%. Great, well done Mikkeller.

Comments: A hoppier and just generally bigger, yet very respectful and classy brown ale.

Bottle (66 cl) from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, Denmark. An American style brown ale with dominant piney hop aromas, and some roasted chocolate notes in the background. If I close my eyes I think I can sense some of those green pepper notes that abound in Beer Geek Breakfeast and Black Hole. Clear reddish brown with a large and long-lasting tan head, medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very bitter finish. Very nice but I would prefer the bitterness and hop aromas to be moderated a bit to give room for a more roasted malt profile.

Courtesy of after4ever and shared with after4ever and bitbucket. Pours a clear deep dark brown with frothy off white head. The aroma is roasted malts mixed with brown sugar and mild caramel. It then moves more roasty and burnt as opposed to sweet. The taste is smooth and starts with roasted malts along with a mild malt astringency. It then becomes mildly sweet but with even more roasted malts than the early part of the taste. Into the finish I get more malt astringency that is just right for the style.

660. Thanks, Maria! Opaque mahogany with rubied, luminescent highlights. Dense, moussy, bubbly off-white head. Not much lace. Rich peppery toasted brown bread nose. Medium body with soft, tightly carbed attack. Rich molasses and sharp salty cat litter mid-palate. Long peppery finish. Awesome brown.
