Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

The film is fun, and this beer is better. The roast notes on this beer make it! Simple as that... a seriously great beer! I love brown ales, and this is undoubtably my fave. I sat and watched jackie brown whilst drinking this, and the only bad bit was having to get up to turn the DVD over (yeah, I know, how old!) This beer is has so many varied notes - the standard roasty/toasty bits, even smoke! I love the finish! Ate some cheese with, an aged gruyere... went well!

(Bottled) Hazy, very dark reddish brown color with a smallish, but creamy and lacy head. Very smooth and pleasant aroma of coffee, dark malts and hints of chocolate. Also some smokiness. The aroma is actually quite Imperial stoutish, and feels a lot stronger than the ABV - in a positive way. Espresso-chocolatey, very smoothly roasty flavor with a dryish, bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied, dryish and slightly ashy palate with soft carbonation. A very pleasant, extremely well-balanced brew - a true gem!

Poured a clear dark chestnut color with a medium sized beige head. Roasted malt aroma with notes of coffee, hops, and chocolate cookies. Roasted malt flavor that was semi-sweet and short. Very dry finish with a moderate bitterness and maybe a hint of pine. The bitterness at the end was very long and kept growing.

Acquired via trade from Maria-A great suprise! What a complex beer this is! Pour was a dark brown with a thin white ring for a head with decent lacing. The aroma was floral hops. The taste started bitter and hoppy but by swallow hints of roasted malt and coffee took over. The aftertaste was like a dry iced tea. Awesome!

22 oz bottle, via henrikb. Pours a clear chestnut brown body under a small foamy beige head that receded to a thin covering. Aroma is nutty and toasted malt with a slight graininess. Some light chocolate, roast, and coffee notes as well. Flavor is pretty robust for a Brown Ale. Nicely nutty with lots of toasted and lightly roasted malt. Finishes a little harsh and grainy with moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, grainy in texture, with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was pretty flavorful for a Brown Ale, but the finish was a little bit of a turn-off.

Mediun dark brown ale. Some coffe, and a bit of malt in the aroma. The taste is complex with notes of chocolate and coffe. Some bitterhops at the end. A bit to bitter for me.
