Jul 26, 2007 22oz, thanks fonefone. nice to see Mikkeller pay respects to a great film. pours dark brown with cream colored head. a pretty chocolaty nose and wood. flavor slightly lactic at first but mellows into a smooth milk chocolate and roasty finish. a nice brown ale.

Sep 7, 2006 RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. Dark brown colour, low tan head. Very nice roasty aroma with notes of fresh coffee beans, oak and aromatic hops. Fine flavour of sweet coffee, nicely roasted, vinous notes. Very good beer.

Feb 4, 2007 I want to give a big thanks to anders37 for this beer.
This is a very good brown ale. it’s a murky brown pour with a thin head. The flavor is roasty with lots of cocoa powder. It finishes dry with some bitterness.

Dec 27, 2007 0.5 l bottle. Overpowering aroma and flavor of chocolate malt. Some sharp alcohols and citrusy american hops in the background. Firm bitterness.

Jun 30, 2009 Off-white head hung around for a while on top of a reddy brown body. Good blend of coffee, choc, malt and noticeable hops on the aroma which carries through to the taste well.

Apr 28, 2008 Bottle. Sweet orange and grapefruit PNW hops with pineapple and lychee - surprising for a brown ale! - give way to toasted, roasted, slightly chocolaty overtones. Reddish-brown pour with an unmovable, rocky tanned head. Very robust bitter taste, comparison with Dreadnaught is still apt, with dry toasty and bready notes. But still, the hops overwhelm any trace of roast and toast and chocolate in the mouth, and thus this is an IPA rather than a brown ale. And just slightly above average, at that. Light brown is slightly sticky with some alcohol shining through. Pass.

Apr 18, 2009 Bottle. Clear brownwith low carbonation.Slightly bitter with small head.Some nuttiness and unusually hoppy for a brown ale. Worth searching out.
