Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

RBESG grand tasting. hm... my notes got mixed. Beige medium-big head that went away slowly. Dark, murky brown body. Chocolate, dark malts and bread can be found in the slightly roasty nose. Remarkably nice. The taste is again roasty, dark malts, caramel, some hop. Lovely... some breadiness and light aroma hop. Probably the best brown ale I’ve had.

Pours reddish brown with a wispy mostly maintained tan head. Notes of English hops, pine, caramel, toffee, and earthy malt. Full bodied, lightly sticky with soft carbonation. A very nice brown ale, I was quite impressed.

(Bottle, BBE 21 02 2008, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, 2009-02-27) Dark reddish brown. Hazy. Large lightly tan coloured head that lasts long. Malts and liquorice in aroma. Full bodid and dry palate with medium carbonation. Malts, coffee, molasses roastedness, sweetness, hint of liquorice and bitterness in taste. Coffee and bitterness in aftertaste.

Bottle. Chestnut brown color with a thin persistent khaki head. Aroma is a mix of earthy hops and nuttiness, plus an odd talcum-like note. There’s a slight astringency to the hops and a tannic note to the malts that combine to give a taste that is oddly bitter and pleasant. The finish, however, leaves the malts behind and all you have is this astringency, and at times it borders on being unpleasant. A confusing brew.

660ml bottle, 13th August 2007. Pours a very dark brown with a light brown head. Good aroma of chocolatey vanilla. The flavour is a good mix of roasted malt, chocolate and cocoa. Palate is very smooth. Overall, a rich beer, full of flavour.

Bottle - Mondial de la Bière, Montréal. Dark brown body with a thick beige frothy head. Malty/hoppy aroma with roasty, caramel and nutty hints. Taste carries roasted coffee, chocolate and flowery notes. Ends with a long bitter/roasty finish. Well done.
