A little hoppier than most browns which I think is nice. Very tasty. Thanks BuckeyeBoy for the hookup. Adenila (952), Denmark

Aroma of roasted chocolate malts and a nice hob blend, like a roasted malt ipa...or something. Flavor is mainly bitter. A mix between the raw chocolate, and the hobs. Has a medium bodie, which makes it alot more drinkable than a stout, and of course the powerfull hob profile makes it more fresh and interesting than the standard brown ale. Holds a resemblance to the american brown ales. I find the palate quite oily, though not as thich - but very smooth. The chocolate follows nicely into the aftertaste. ajm (949), Los Angeles, California, USA

Full flavor of charcoal, dark chocolate roast and light coffee. Very solid flavor and malt profile, but not quite the depth (sweetness, thick texture) I was hoping for. Still, a fine beer that I will buy pretty much whenever I see it. reakt (937), Greater London, England

Deep amber with a thick off white foam. Hoppy nose with roasted malt, orange and cocoa. Hoppy at first but then comes the sweet coffee, malt and cereal. Medium palate with a long bitter finish.. Good stuff... Take 2, bottle from BEERmerchants.com. The rubbery smokey notes eluded me last time and the cocoa is just sublime, there was a big gust of it as I removed the cap. There’s also a little caramel/sugary sweetness underneath that I failed to mention before, but much the same otherwise. topherh (936), Kearney, Missouri, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2008 Pours a deep, translucent nut brown with a thin white head. Aroma is crisp and nutty with slightly roasted malt at the front. Flavor was mild compared to other Mikkeller brews, roasted nuts, slight coffee, toffee and sugar. Finish was clean and refreshing. Good session beer. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2008 Poured from a 500ml bottle and served in an English pint glass. This beer poured a medium-dark brown with a thick head of creamy tan foam that would not fade. Excellent lacing. The aroma of the beer was made up of coffee, chocolate, and nuts, along with a touch of citrus in the background. The flavor consisted of bitter roasted notes, cold coffee, pine, and grapefruit/citrus bitterness. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with light carbonation. A good beer, but just a bit too bitter for my taste in a brown ale. CanIHave4Beers (910), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 22, 2009 Sample courtesy of the coolest person we met in Kansas City, I don’t remember her name but she pulled up to the bar stool next to me and was in the mood for Mikeller. The beer pours a pretty reddish brown with a wonderful big head. The aroma has good notes of molasses and coffee. The flavor of the beer struck me at first as tea like which took me back to some of my first experiences with brown ale, there is no doubt a good hoppiness and a great mild coffee flavor. The beer just came off as brilliantly crafted and well rounded.
