Smooth on the palate. This is like drinking a good cup of coffee. Nice. merlin48 (516), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 23, 2008 Bottle pours a chill hazed chestnut brown body with an ample tan head that retains well and leaves generous lacing. Aroma begins nutty and chocolate but hops quickly take over with brash notes of pine and grapefruit rind. Creamy carbonation and some hop oiliness noted on the palate. Taste is very assertively hopped with bitter pine and citrus rind. Malts emerge more fully as it warms with a pleasant toastiness that highlights nutty, chocolate, and roasted coffee tones. Very well done. Certainly one of the hoppiest brown ales I’ve encountered. GJF (505), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA

Lots of roasted malt and coffee in the aroma and in the flavor. Starts off with a bright, slightly fruity burst but then finishes with a very dry, hop/coffee bitterness. Very nice. rane (504), Nibe, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Bottle. Redbrown with medium pale brown head. Aroma begins with notes of hopps and then coffee takes over. Nice.
Taste: Coffe dominating wiht some roasted malts as well. Long bitter hopdominated finish. It doesn´t taste like any other brown ale and probably isn´t true to style, but very nice indeed. Some Mikkeller beers seems to be to hoppy, but in this one the hops is helping a lot at making a great beer. Tripplebrew (493), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Pours a dark nut brown with cream/tan colored head that dissipates to a tan lacing. Aroma is nutty hazelnut with undertones of coffee. The flavor is a bit bitter with coffee flavors and bitter malts. The palate fairly light. Definitely not near this brewers capabilities. Roasted malt flavor with nuts and sweetness. Dry aftertaste on the tongue. There is a slight cocoa taste that lingers on after the drink. Nice lacing on the glass. he foamy head was the last to go. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
