| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 14, 2007 (Bottled) Hazy, very dark reddish brown color with a smallish, but creamy and lacy head. Very smooth and pleasant aroma of coffee, dark malts and hints of chocolate. Also some smokiness. The aroma is actually quite Imperial stoutish, and feels a lot stronger than the ABV - in a positive way. Espresso-chocolatey, very smoothly roasty flavor with a dryish, bitter finish. Medium to full-bodied, dryish and slightly ashy palate with soft carbonation. A very pleasant, extremely well-balanced brew - a true gem! Dedollewaitor (3754), Odense, Denmark

Toast and very bitter on the finish with not much to balance the aggressive acrid bitter finish. Very hoppy brown ale. joss (3683), Garching b. München, Germany

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Dark brown color with a thin head. Dark chocolate aroma, plenty of nuttiness and English-earthy hops. Strong nut taste, predominantly walnut. Some chocolate and coffee. The hops are pretty strong for a Brown Ale and they seem to be floral/Noble hops. Quite a chalky feel. Good. gunnfryd (3601), Kristiansand, Norway
