Aroma of roasted chocolate malts and a nice hob blend, like a roasted malt ipa...or something. Flavor is mainly bitter. A mix between the raw chocolate, and the hobs. Has a medium bodie, which makes it alot more drinkable than a stout, and of course the powerfull hob profile makes it more fresh and interesting than the standard brown ale. Holds a resemblance to the american brown ales. I find the palate quite oily, though not as thich - but very smooth. The chocolate follows nicely into the aftertaste. KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway

The foam is leaving nice lacework on the glass as the glass is being emptied. Fruity and slight malty aroma with a minor woody note. Flavour starts fruity from the hops before the smooth chocolate malt takes over. Soon after this a more roasted malt profile turns up and way is given to a slight coffee note. Not much time is granted before a strong bitterness is breaking the malt flavours. A nice blend of malt and hops keeps lingering into the rather dry finish. thewolf (5808), Kolding, Denmark

Super mouthfeel. Taste has lots of chocolate and quite bitter at the end. Blom (514), Odense, Denmark

A very hoppy aroma given the style, with some notes of coffee and chocoate. The flavour is also dominated by hoppy bitterness but in combination with nuts and roasted malts. I’m very fond of the creamy texture and full body of this foxy lady. Fin (3460), Merton, Oxfordshire, England

Pours conker brown looking a little murky in the depths and with a light brown head. Burnt coffee, roasted malts and some soft brown sugar leap forth from the nose. The taste is fiercely bitter the burnt coffee that was present in the nose returns in the mouth along with some burnt cinder toffee and some further immensely roasted flavours its also hopadoodletastic, very, very nice. greenhorn1 (462), Mission Viejo, California, USA

Pours a clear mahogany with a thick frothy tan head. Roasted malt aroma and hops. Besides the roastiness in the flavor, it also has subtle hints of chocolate and toffee. What is so good and unique about this beer is the hoppiness. I was not expecting it, but it somehow works. I am not a big fan of brown ales, but this is a very remarkable brew.
