This is a very good brown ale. it’s a murky brown pour with a thin head. The flavor is roasty with lots of cocoa powder. It finishes dry with some bitterness. Lubiere (4549), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

A nice chocolate and hops aroma, pinhey hops, melding nicely with fudge and vanilla. In mouth, a good chocolate malt, good herbal hops, sustained bitterness. Rich and smooth. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2008 Bottle pours black and ruby highlights with a monster creamy looking white head with clingy lace – interesting to look at the head/beer line as it is very distinct (not sure if this makes any sense, but it looks great this way). The aroma is hops, yeast, roasted darkness, smoke, and freshly pulled resinous ganja (in theory, not practice). The flavor has lots fresh tasting hops, anise, solid roasted malts, inevitable ale fruit notes, more bitterness, and just overall very delicious. This is an awesome Brown, but so hard to rate after the awesome beers I’ve rated this evening. Of note here are the hops that taste so fresh against the chocolate and coffee backbone. This is very interesting. GonZoBeeR (2163), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2008 Dark brown pour and an absolutely gorgeous creamy white head that lasts. Nutty and malty aroma with some chocolate and piney hops. Mouthfeel is somewhat creamy and high carbonation. This one has a lot of hop bitterness up front, pine and grapefruit. Middle reveals a more roasted/coffee character. Bitter finish, lingering coffee, some residual pine/citrus hop flavors. A very good brown. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

This produces a tan head over a medium brown body.
Dusty malt and hops aroma.
Chocoalte malt flavor with a dry hop finish.
Moderate bitterness which is high for a brown ale - but to the better and this balances it out quite nicely.
Nice take on the style. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

Poured a dark brown color with a large frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Heavy toasted sweet malt and chocolate espresso aroma. Medium body. Solid bittersweet toasted flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew.
