This is it. Roasty. Drinkable and refreshing on a hot day. Cocoa is distant,as is licorice. It’s hoppy-it’s a portery stouty brown ale, with low bitterness. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

Aroma is fairly hoppy with notes of chocolate, caramel and roast. Pretty big aroma and flavor. Clean, somewhat bitter mouthfeel. Big flavors, nice balance, not a lot of complexity. Enjoyable brown though. ekstedt (2447), Göteborg, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 8, 2007 Bottle (66 cl) from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, Denmark. An American style brown ale with dominant piney hop aromas, and some roasted chocolate notes in the background. If I close my eyes I think I can sense some of those green pepper notes that abound in Beer Geek Breakfeast and Black Hole. Clear reddish brown with a large and long-lasting tan head, medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very bitter finish. Very nice but I would prefer the bitterness and hop aromas to be moderated a bit to give room for a more roasted malt profile.
