Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

Bottled(500ml or bigger). –RBESG2008, Grand Tasting.
Dark reddish brown coloured, big pale beige head, light roasted nose with notes of chocolate. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and mild hoppy taste with notes of caramel and wood. Strong bitter finish.

Pours a dark brown with a large head. The aroma has a nice nuttiness, a lot like hazelnuts along with some chocolate. The only problem comes in the flavor where the bitterness turns unpleasant compared to the malt profile in this one.

My Bottom Line:
Wet herbal hops and their inherent earthiness swerve around the roasted maltiness and its accompanying chestnuts. A flavorful pint of Brown Ale this is, which gains cohesion, balance and wealth after a few months of aging.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam sits atop the limpid brown ochre, lacing nicely.
-The effervescent carbonation enlightens the healthy maltiness.
-The fruity nuttiness is a little too shy and dry for my tastes in the style.
-The dry, resinous, earthy hop bitterness is rather important.
-A citrusy character rises from the hops.

Bottles; best before Aug. ’07.

hazy brown, wispy beige head, huge chocolate aroma with lots of fresh citrus hops, well hopped rich dry chocolate flavor, light bitter finish considering all of the hops in the aroma and flavor, not a lot of complexity but a lot of flavor and very drinkable

Small head left, over slightly hazy dark brown beer. American hops, dry, a bit of ureum, little else - but some lemon zeste. Soft coffeeish taste, moccha, and hop flavours. Medium bodied, seems a lot more alcoholic than 6%, and quite some grist in the texture. Smooth in the good way. Nice, but maybe just a tad too smooth. It’s like Mikkeller trying to get a basic beer to experiment upon again.

Weak coffee color, decent head. Flavor is cocoa powder and coffee beans. Medium bodied. Smooth on the palate. This is like drinking a good cup of coffee. Nice.
