This is the most perfect brown ale I have tasted so far (not rated... I’m a little lazy @r rating....)
It has this perfect, malty and caramelish taste, upon which the two hopifilians has created the most enticing taste of roasted malt and hops. There isn’t much to say, really. This beer is a must. Just do it (Swoosh ;-)) Beer2000 (1828), Kristiansand, Norway

Don’t usually go for brown, but thought the name was cool. So I was very surprised by how hoppy the nose was for a brown beer. Oh yea, and it poured a rich deep brown. Also had coffee and chocolate, and some burnt notes. Nice smooth lightly carbonated mouthful. The hops interact well with the chocolate and coffee, and makes for an interesting and intense bitter finish. I really enjoyed this, even on a hot summer day PaulHegedus (467), Georgetown, Ontario, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 27, 2008 The afro on the label is priceless, first off. Bottle at Volo, shared with folkbeer. This really is one complex mother of a beer. Pours a wonderful brown, dark, almost black with a creamy head, beautiful and thick when poured (but died quickly) in a short, goblet like glass. There’s cherry and other dark fruits in the aroma, maybe some prune with plenty of wonderful, dark roasted coffee beans and a hint of fresh chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium with a slight, slight wateriness. The flavour is full, complex and full of strong dark roasted coffee, dark cherry with a background nuttiness. Smooth blend and balance between flavours. A medium dry finish with hops and savoury chocolate. mkel07 (550), Brisbane, Australia

Poured a deep dark brown, bordering on black with a large rich creamy tan head. Wonderful coffee aromas assault the nose and are highlighted by strong burnt flavours that dominate the palate, sharp and bitter with a long finish. Monpbeer (11), Melbourne, Australia
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 23, 2009 I really like this beer and being a bit of a hop fiend helps. Dark reddish-brown in colour with a nice dense fluffy head that hangs around. The aromas are hop dominated with some roasted nutty and malty characters underneath. The carbonation comes on strong initially but balances out straight away. Again the hops are come on strong but it has a fantastic full malty, toasty, nutty palate. Some charry notes too and a long persistent bitterness on the finish.
Top stuff. Drink around 8-10 degrees.
