Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Ørbæk Bryggeri, Ørbæk, Denmark.
Mikkellers tribute to the foul-mouthed stewardess Jackie Brown from Quentin Tarantino’s movie of the same name. It’s a roasty, chocolaty brown ale with hints of coffee and licorice. Being a Mikkeller brew the malts are inevitably complimented by a great amount of hop bitterness, aroma and flavour.
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale, munich, cara-pils, cara-crystal, brown and chocolate), flaked oats, hops (nugget, simcoe and centennial) and ale yeast.

Decided to pick this 25.4 oz. bottle up at Greens on Ponce De Leon. Looking VERY good for a brown ale. Nice DARK brown color. Damn near opaque. Nice slight off-white head that eventually fades away. In my opinion, this is how an awesome brown ale should look. Fairly nice balance between the malts and hops in the aroma. A decent nut aroma coming through. Very pungent brew. I am not a fan of the fact that the hops are so present, but this might be a positive note on the flavor. The flavor is, in my mind, excellent. Nice nutty, roast, malty flavor. The hops provide an excellent backing to this beer. Nice subtle coffee flavor as well. I don’t think they could have done a better job on a brown. This roast is absolutely amazing. The hops and roast are just the perfect combo. The coffee comes out more as the beer warms up. This beer is simply amazing.

66 cl bottle. Hopheads´ tasting 22. august. Brown reddish color, nice beige/tan head. Aroma is lots and lots of malt and hops. Flavor is sweet malty and hoppy, coffee and chocolate. Well - this is one of the reasons why I love Mikkeller!

Sample courtesy of the coolest person we met in Kansas City, I don’t remember her name but she pulled up to the bar stool next to me and was in the mood for Mikeller. The beer pours a pretty reddish brown with a wonderful big head. The aroma has good notes of molasses and coffee. The flavor of the beer struck me at first as tea like which took me back to some of my first experiences with brown ale, there is no doubt a good hoppiness and a great mild coffee flavor. The beer just came off as brilliantly crafted and well rounded.

The bottle looks great, the beer in the glass also. Starts malty and dry, notes of strong coffee and bitter chocolate. Finish like velvet, very drinkable. Really good!

Brown body with a frothy creamy beige head. Aroma of the hop flowers like resin with roasted malt and coffee. Complex mouthfeel with the caramel and coffe tastes, strong personality with a good balanced but powerfull hop flavo. Fine and long aftertaste of the roasted grains and coffe. Thank you, Mikkeller, it was really fine!r

Bottle, The Rake, London. Big ups for naming this after a top movie...’Poured a murky brown colour with a creamy biege head..Great aroma with hops, caramel, roasted coffee bean, chocolate and hazlenut all jostling for position..These themes continue on, with a further big hit of roasted coffee in the flavour, but it works really well with some great hoppage mixing with the roasted mal to give it wonderful balancet. Lip smackin’, long dry bitter finish. Very good stuff indeed. ’Not if your ambition is to get high and watch TV’

RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. Dark brown colour, low tan head. Very nice roasty aroma with notes of fresh coffee beans, oak and aromatic hops. Fine flavour of sweet coffee, nicely roasted, vinous notes. Very good beer.

Bottle. Clear brownwith low carbonation.Slightly bitter with small head. Some nuttiness and unusually hoppy for a brown ale. Worth searching out.
