Commercial Description:
Keller Likes Restsødme is a Keller favorite. The recipe is based on the winning brown ale at the Danish Homebrewing Championship 2005. It's a highly hopped brown ale with roasted character that goes well with the residual malt-sweetness.

(Bottld, 0.5l) Hazy dark brown with a smallish, lasting head. Licorice-malty, yeasty aroma with coffee hints. Dark coffee with dry-ashy, hoppy maltiness and some licorice in the flavor. Medium-bodied, dryish and roasty palate with low carbonation. A very enjoyable brew, not unlike Jackie Brown or Beer Geeks Breakfast.

Bottle, on the train back from Olfabrikken brewday (thanks Ungstrup) , May 2006. Very lively. Dark brown with a slight haze. Fruity aroma with a touch of farmyard, I thought. More fruit on the palate, with noticeable spicy hops. Fairly bitter finish, with a sour edge. Not much residual sweetness. It was explained to me what Restodme means but I can’t for the life of me remember. Not a typical brown ale anyway.

Deep red brown body. Nose is tobacco and very earthy. Slightly sour and malty sweet.

Bottle courtesy of sk8viking sampled in June 2006: Pours a transparent dark amber brown with a well-lacing dark tan head. Has a roasted mocha coffee aroma and some earthy fresh bittering hops. Body has a lot of carbonation and a good fresh roasted coffee and lightly chocolatey malty flavor with nice fresh piny hoppy bitterness. Well-balanced, crisp and enjoyable; one of the best brown ales I’ve had.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma of sourness, tobacco, burnt malt, and chocolate. Flavor of sweet malt with sour qualities in the finish.

Pour is nice clear brown with a thin tan head...nice malty earthy nose with some toasty nutty aromas...flavor is sweet and toasty with a strange vegetable bitterness creeping up in the end...

Deep brown color with a lasting head. Aroma was a bit musty. Taste was coffee with some spices.

Aroma was caramel with toast overtones. Taste for me started with a tangy pear flavor, but quickly lended to caramel, tobacco, and some onion quality. A gentles sour citrus taste lingered as well. More eventful than most brown ales.
