Aroma is extremely fresh fround coffee accented mildly with dark fruits, roasted and toasted grains and a fairly heavy dose of grassy hops.

It’s a dark ruddy brown color with a ridiculously Belgian looking head that is fluffy (like those 4th of July Snakes fireworks) head that shoots over the rim of the glass. Said head is mocha colored, bubbly on the side and a touch over the two fingers thick.

Chewy tobacco notes, lightly sweet malts, dried out fruity sweetness, dry toasted breadyness with some fried bagel/bready notes stemming off. It’s a different Brown ALe than what you are used to and don’t F@CK with that head because if you get to aggresive it will wet your ass.

In the end I was hoping for some more cliched Brown Ale nuttiness and estery sweetness, butMikkeller beers are always worth trying and never awful. Papsoe (15009), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours a slightly cloudy dark brown with an orange tint. Dense, light brown head. Lightly burned malt aroma. Medium body with a rather heavy carbonation. Roasted malt and burned, coffeeish touches. A surprising - for Mikkeller - subdued bitterness. Not much "Restsødme" (residual sweetness) left for Keller here. Perhaps the yeast ate it all? 211106 ChristianScheffel (4557), Odense, Denmark

Dark mahogany, tan head, lots of lacing. Nose of earthy, spicy hops. Very spicy and vegetal that blend with the nutty roast. The flavor is sweet, balanced and has plenty of body and character. Finishes chewy, nice. Thanks Jens! Enjoyit (1722), Vadum, Denmark

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 28, 2006 Bottle. Dark with a light reddish glow and a thick beige head (just like Keller himself). There’s coffee and licorice in the aroma along with the fantastic smell of wet wood. Just like when I was a kid playing on the playground in the rain. No wet asphalt though (damn!). With a nice sweetness at first and such a smooth bitterness in the end, this beer along with it’s flavour of espresso with licorice topping makes up a really great beer experience. Keller likes restsødme - MPA likes Keller (and Mikkel too btw) duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 22, 2006 Bottle. Thanks to sk8viking. Roasted malt characters, chocolate, caramel and a herbaceous hoppy finish. Some brown sugar also noticed at the start, lightly sweet, but with a nice hop bitterness in the finish. This was very pleasant and tasty.
