Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium.
Not just another wit bier. The style taken to another level. Strong and hoppy. The world’s first IPW?
Ingredients : Water, malt (pale and amber), unmalted wheat, flaked oats, hops (goldings, amarillo, saaz and cascade), spices (orange peel and coriander seeds) and yeast.

Bottle. Nice color! VERY yellow. Has a lot of things that a belgian white should have, but i would have like some more depth or even some funk.

1 ping 9.4 oz. bottle from Greens on Ponce De Leon. For number 600, I thought I would treat myself. Beer has a nice look to it. Fluffy head. Dark orange haze color. Looks pretty damn good. It looks really good. Head fades away quickly, but it still looks pretty good. Very hoppy aroma. I mean really hoppy; and for a witbier? What the hell? Slight sweet aroma, but the hops just dominate. Very pungent, but I wish they would have found a way to get the yeast and fruit/citrus aroma(s) in there. The beer is at first hoppy, and then some magic happens that only God knows about. The beer develops into a complex orange peel/citrus aroma. The hops at first aren’t overly annoying. Wow, a nice twist to a beer. The hops are playing less and less of a role as the beer warms up. That spice with orange citrus flavor is awesome. Very nuanced and very interesting. I was happy to see the hops take a backseat. Awesome wit. I agree this is not just another wit. It is pretty damn good. Fairly creamy. I love the hop twist on this thing very good.

Bottled. Cloudy golden color, medium frothy head. Aroma of orange peel, citrus, bit vanilla, yeast, hint of banana, quit hoppy. Bitter taste, fresh, orange and citrus. I was expecting an over the top imperial white, but it turned out to be very nice actually!

Bottle: Poured a hazy light golden yellow color ale with a quite large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of wheat malt and light spices is overshadowed by some Cascade, Saaz and Amarillo hops. Taste is also very much dominated by citrus notes originating from the Cascade hops and a dry finish from the Saaz hops. Body si full with limited filtration and great carbonation. Interesting experiment that made me realize that I like my Wit without too much hops.

Thanks to Nate for sharing! Hazy bright orange pour. Fluffy white head and spotty lace. Lots of yeast floaters. Spicy aroma. Big hoppy citrus flavor, combined with hints of clove & grass

Bottled. Aroma has orange peel, yeast, citric fruitiness, some spice. hazy, yellow-orange coloured with a white head. The taste is slightly sweet, more bitter, citric and balanced spicy. Reminded me a bit of the Hoegaarden Grand cru. Unless the high alcohol percentage for the style the beer is still quite refreshing. Before drinkin’ I expected this one to be a failed experiment, but I was all wrong. This beer is good!

Tons of orange peel in the aroma. Pretty firm hop finish. It’s not bad, but it’s really not what I look for in a witbier. This is heavy and yeasty like a Belgian golden or trippel. I like a bit more lightness in my wits.
