Aroma: very typical of the style; tremendous complexity, yet seems to be in very harmonious balance; has a little bit of everything; honey, vanilla, orange, spice, and more!
Flavor: loses points here mainly because the hops are too strong for this style; now, I am a hophead so I don’t mind this; in fact, I love this beer, but in terms of conforming to the witbier style characteristics, it does not; therefore my overall impression is high and the other categories will lose some points
Mouthfeel: very good except probably a fuller body than is typical for the style, but again, that is most likely from the stronger hop presence dimenhetfield (202), , Florida, USA

Aroma is faint, but enticing, banana, cloves, wheat, pepper.
Flavor is cinnamon, banana, arugula, and peppercorns.
Texture is dry, crisp, active, and lightly biting.
Overall, a great hoppy take on the style, and a delicious example of a witbier. Todeon (315), Sweden

Lovely mandarin fruit. Hazy pale gold, lasting white head. Creamy in mouth. That’s just stunning. Great great cleaning hops on the finish on one of my favourite styles. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 10, 2008 Pours golden with a tall head that lingers the whole drink. Aromas of banana gum and breaded tropical fruit. Medium full nectar with good effers creating a soft and luscious mouthfeel. A solid malt body scatters nuances over an eager palate. Theres a defined hop bittering of the peachpit sort that balances the whole thing out. The finish is long and savory. I wonder if Barack drinks beer. He sure does smoke like a fiend. nuplastikk (1214), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 1, 2009 750 plastic corked bottle. $14.99 price tag. The aroma on the cork is pretty awesome, bigtime Saaz and wheat aromas, in your face. Smelling it from the glass I don’t really get the same thing. The appearance is pretty much all you can ask for, thick orange with a fluffy white head. Quite an interesting taste. Takes the the vanilla creamy flavors of the Wit adds a new school hop balance. Quite well done, this really is a fantastic Wit. The extra hops and alcohol give it much more depth. A classic. unclemattie (2432), Georgia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 24, 2009 Not Just Another Great Mikkeller...! 750ml bottle, caged and (synthetic) corked. Deep golden color. White creamy head. Just the look and smell alone is enough for me to change my favorite style to Belgian White (Witbier) from Weizen Bock! Aroma of wheat, malts, and lots of hops. Oh I love the smell of Amarillo Hops. Nice citrus with a slight hint of pine resin. Slight orange zest. Flavor is very bready. Nice malt. Creamy texture with a hit of toasted oats. The beer is a bit stronger than I had expected. An Imperial Belgian Wit?? I like it! Finishes with a pine hop bitterness. A distant fruit flavor as well. Perhaps the coriander. I would never imagine a Witbier to be paired with a Porterhouse steak. This beer is so full bodied, it could. Cheers! Follow up: 1st Belch was of pineapple, 2nd belch was of mangoes. A truly awesome beer.
