Bottle during Max’s 72 Hour Belgian Beer Fest. Brown bodied. Small tan head. Nose is sweet malts, spices, herbs, alcohol and chocolate. Taste is malty with caramel, spices, brown sugar and herbs. Soft yeast and fruit come through also. Body is medium-full. Bubbly carbonation. Strong malt finish with caramel, spices, yeast and choco notes. Odd Belgian strong but very tasty!

Jul 5, 2008 750ml bottle. My first Mikkeller was a killer! Poured opaque with a giant wispy tan head. Nose of cocoa dust, nutmeg and other spices with some toasted malt rounding things out. Big bold chocolate flavor with some spiciness. A very full bodied beer.

Jun 29, 2008 750ml bottle cellared for about 7 months. Dark brown pour, nearly opaque in the glass with a medium head. Nice Lace.
Aroma was a mix of chocolate, roasted malts, yeast, prunes and peppery spices. Alcohol is well covered. Medium-thin body. Spicy aftertaste. This one might give you heartburn if you drink too much in a sitting.

Jun 29, 2008 750 via trade some time ago. I’ve been holding poor expectations for this since hearing so many bad things but what the hell, its got get drunk. Pours black with a ring faded from a 1 finger tan head. Nose is sweet, spiced and muted. Taste is slightly chocolaty and less spiced than the nose portended. Overall better than I expected. Pretty smooth after cellaring.

Jun 26, 2008 Thanks to BDR. Pours a silky deep brown with a nice tan head. Aromas of spices and chocolate malt. The flavor included chocolate and dark fruits. Another solid beer from Mikkeller.

Jun 24, 2008 RB Bachelor Pub Crawl. Very kindly shared by BDR. Black color with a medium head. Aroma of wintergreen, spices and a pinch of Lysol. Lots of wintergreen and mint flavor. Strong, sweet malt. Just a bit of chocolate. Spicy and yeasty finish.
