750 ml bottle, from Sloth in a trade. Pours black-brown, thick and opaque with a large semi-creamy dark beige head and tinges of brick color at the edges. Roasty aroma with molasses, bitter chocolate, date, spicy notes with clove and coriander, belgian yeastiness and coriander. Flavor is roasty and bitter with prominenet spice, prune juice, floral hops, coffee, more clove, molasses and a bit of breadiness herbal bitter/sourness. Full and smooth body, soft with gentle carbonation.

bottle- pitch black and viscous. Tannish head- dark fruits come up at first, raisins and prunes-yeast produced belgian esters follow, then quickly finish into a nicely roasted/toasty end. Not completely boozy, which was surprising considering the abv. Well done beer- enjoyed.

Bottle. I’m with 1_2many on this one, would not have guessed it was a Belgian ale. Looked like a stout or porter. Almost complete black in color with a dark brown head. Aroma was spicy malt and some dark fruits. Flavor is the same, with strong notes of sour, tangy, fruits...but with a strong sweet malt profile as well. An intense and interesting beer.

Bottle. Probably one of the most interesting looking belgian strong ales I’ve seen. It could pass for a porter or stout on appearance. Intricate lacing as well. Aroma is dark malt, dark fruit, and some sourness that reminds me of wine. Flavor is sweet with a nice tanginess. Palate is very nice. I tried to think of a way to bring it down to a 4 and couldn’t. In my own opinion the carbonation, mouthfeel, and aftertaste are perfect. Great beer.
