| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Bottle from Olive Tree Market. Pours a murky cocoa brown with a frothy beige head. Some cocoa, spice and faint coffee beans on the nose. Flavor was much of the same with the finish being a little boozy and hot. I think this one needs a year or two in the cellar. simoneopazz (56), , Italy

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 14, 2009 750 mL bottle. Pours a very dark amber with a medium frothy light beige head that leaves good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a dark fruit malt with yeast and molasses. Medium mouthfeel with a dry fruit malt with caramel and a nice bitter finish. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink. A very good Belgian strong ale from Mikkeller.
