Bottle from Olive Tree Market. Pours a murky cocoa brown with a frothy beige head. Some cocoa, spice and faint coffee beans on the nose. Flavor was much of the same with the finish being a little boozy and hot. I think this one needs a year or two in the cellar.

750 mL bottle. Pours a very dark amber with a medium frothy light beige head that leaves good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a dark fruit malt with yeast and molasses. Medium mouthfeel with a dry fruit malt with caramel and a nice bitter finish. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink. A very good Belgian strong ale from Mikkeller.

Keg at the Pig’s Ear Fest ’09. Alround rating: Another beer to show off how bad the british beers were. Sweet caramel and candy sugar, fairly fruity off the yeast strain as you expect, alc is fairly weel hidden and its tasty. Best belgian ale iv had for a while.
