Commercial Description:
Originally brewed by Mikkeller, Denmark. Recent batch brewed by Mikkeller at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium.
The third in the series of single hop IPAs from Mikkeller. Brewed with Cascade, a true American classic hop type. This hop is less powerful than the ones used in the previous two single hop IPAs - creating a great balance with the beers other aspects.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pilsner, cara-crystal and munich), hops (cascade) and yeast.

Bottle… Hazy burnt-orange ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Great retention. The aroma is an odd, not-at-all-pleasant blend of grapefruit, leather, sweaty socks and just a trace of vomit. Medium-bodied and oily with fizzy carbonation. Tangy, bitter flavor. Tongue-numbing, Novocain-like, bitter, dry finish. Big time thanks to growler for giving me the opportunity to choke this one down... kidding!

Bottle (330ml). Shared by blankboy with me and garthicus. Light amber with a solid lasting creamy/foamy off-white head - lovely lacing too. Earthy/catty bitter aroma, light malt in the background - honestly smells like good dirt. Taste - wow that’s bitter, very earthy, dry, pungent - I get no malt and pretty much no alcohol, this is all about the bitterness. Thick, very astringent, long, long, long bitter finish - really interesting.

With thanks to Blankboy for sharing this with HogTownHarry and I. Appearance: Nice copper colour with a lasting white head. Aroma: Citrus, hops, caramel, quite fruity with some bitterness. Flavour: Like licking a bitter stamp, dry, pineapple, grapefruit some alcohol, lots of hops, quite a lot of dryness and bitterness in the finish.

Pours a clear copper and red with a lively off-white two to three finger high head, effervescent, leaves generous lacing on the sides of the glass, dark sediment on the bottom of the bottle, aromas of floral and citrus hops, light fruit, malt sweetness, biscuit, Belgian yeast fragrance in the background? Faint honey sweetness, flavors of hop bitterness, toasted malt, some bread, drink starts with some malt sweetness but ends pretty dry, piney hop bite is not strong but is felt and lingers after the finish, mouth feel is light, feels airy on the palate, the lightness of this ale made it easy to drink, an interesting drink.

Pours orange, copper with thick off white head. Aroma of peppery spices and mild, piney hops. Taste is astringent with a very dry finish. Was hoping for more, a letdown.

Bottle: Pours a transparent dark golden copper with a well-lacing froth of off-white head. Aroma of lightly grassy and grapefruity hops with an underlying touch of sweet caramel malt. Starts with pretty good fullness and carbonation along with a light malty sweetness and juicy grapefruity hop notes before a slightly drier, resiny bittersweet finish. A pretty enjoyable and refreshing IPA.

(33cl-bottle) Hazy, amber colour with a huge and slightly tanned foamy head. Intensively hoppy aroma, slightly piney with fruity notes of grapefruit and pineapple, combined with a cara-malty sweetness. Bitter and subtle sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft and well-matured carbonation. Cara-malty base with a tinge of licorice and a fruity and slightly oily hops character; dry and bitter fruity finish, also quite lasting finish. This one is much more balanced and impressive than the Mikkeller Warrior IPA I´ve had before (16.VIII.09).

Bottle poured a clear tarnished copper with a large lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, pine, light orange and light grapefruit. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, pine, grapefruit and a hint of orange zest with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.
