So I love the concept of this series... pours a dingy orangish brown with a fluffy head. Aromas are sweet... pineapple and papaya with a lot of caramel malt. To be honest, I’m disappointed right now because I’m not sure if my nose could pick out the difference in aroma between the three of these that I’ve tried... I’m not sure if the beer has aged a bit too much or if it wasn’t dry hopped very much or if I am just defective... Anyhow, flavor is more unique... A bit of a blast of pine hits the palate just before this beer hits it, which restores a little of my confidence in myself and Mikkeller. Still, there are some interfering pepper and caramel flavors that seem to get in the way of the hops experience... It gets a little mired down or something here... vyvvy (2044), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA

There is a bit of hop bitterness, but more caramel malt than others I’ve had in this series. This came to the shop at the same time as the Warrior, but this seems to have more age. Medium crisp body that has some semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with spicy, earthy, piny hops and smooth toasted malt that is quite balanced. The finish is spicy and quite earthy and dry. A good beer, but I’ve liked the others better. Two more to go. Rciesla (3645), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours an orange body with a white head. Very nice grapefruit and an almost darker chewy plum and caramel like note. Not the pure hop bitterness bomb that i was expecting but nevertheless quite interesting and delicious to try this hop variety isolated. travita (1910), Frisco, Texas, USA

The smell is paper, hops, earth, pine, and grapefruit. The taste is hops, earth, spices, malts, medium bitterness, and caramel. kopher (301), New York, USA

very grassy aroma, grapefruit, pine, spicy bitterness and underlying thick sweet malt.
bitter flavor, lots of fresh-cut grass, a bit musky. long bitter finish. thin-medium body and good carbonation for this beer. overall it is a nice way to present a hop, but it could be a bit more balanced. it would not have killed them to put a bit more malt. jfm (1695), Holbæk, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2009 Bottle. Nice hop aroma with a nice flower note. Light hazy golden color with a white head. Nice full body with a distinct hop and light soap? bitterness. Bitter hop palate. Not bad. Soonah (931), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Updated: Jul 24, 2009Via trade with jrob21. The pour was a dingy, dark golden color with a very ample off-white head that settled into a bit of a rocky mass and above average patches of lacing. The aroma was earthy, pine hops. Some faint citrus. The flavor is super dry, pine hops that I for a long time now associated with pencil shavings. I’ll have to remember that cascade hops are the likely contributor to this unique flavor. The mouthfeel is thin with an incredibly dry finish. Really enjoyable. rocbyter (917), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
