Commercial Description:
Originally brewed by Mikkeller, Denmark. Recent batch brewed by Mikkeller at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium.
The third in the series of single hop IPAs from Mikkeller. Brewed with Cascade, a true American classic hop type. This hop is less powerful than the ones used in the previous two single hop IPAs - creating a great balance with the beers other aspects.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pilsner, cara-crystal and munich), hops (cascade) and yeast.

Bottled, Pikkulintu. Dark amber color, good cloudy off-white head, Sweat, cascade hops, some fruityness in the nose. Quite sticky-hoppy, dry hoppy flavor, woody. Straightforward, maybe not the tastiest hoppy beer but ok.

12oz bottle. Pours a medium copper color, slightly hazed with a big off white head that left some spotty lacing. Big citrus nose that is jumping with tangerine, lemon and also a tropical fruit, maybe pineapple or mango? Flavor was also very citrusy with light to medium hop bitterness on the finish. Another great one from Mikkeller.

This orange ale poured with a massive lasting beige head and an aroma of bread and pine. There is a nice caramel malt base with floating hop bitterness and a pepper finish.

33 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Hazy light copper with a large light tan foam. Aroma: Pine hops with a nice balance of rye bread crust and slight nuttiness from the malts, the hops becomes somewhat citrusy, mainly grapefruit over time, slightly dank and lemony, peppery, transitions to slightly soapy as it sits. Palate: Medium body, fairly loose carbonation. Flav.: Soapier than expected, more like Goldings (?), a little vegetal, still some good pine and citrus, malts are a little more restrained here, some light caramel and bread crust; dry with nice bitterness and a light, nutty finish.

Nice brew.

Bottle shared with Elisabeth at Henrik Øl og Vinstove. Partly clear, amber body. Filmy layer that left spotty laceworks on the glass. Sweet fruity to the nose. Hoppy citric flavour added by a touch of anise. Prolonged bitterness to the ending. Fresh mouthfeel. Easy drinking and easy to enjoy (Bergen, 18.06.2009).

Bottle from the Jug Shop in SF. Only $3.99 compared to the other super ripoff Single Hop IPAs. Caramel amber color with a nice lasting off-white head. Aroma of piney hops and sweet malt. Flavor is caramel malt, earth, and grapefruity/piney Cascade hops on the finish. Medium body with lasting oily bitterness on the finish.

Bottle shared with Sparky27...thanks again Eric!!! Hazy copper pour with ringlets that sprung from a very thin eggshell head. Aroma is a bit skunky, at first. Quite earthy with lemongrass, orange peel, and even a little horse blanket. Medium mouthfeel. Unique...

Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam, consumed at Kemmel campsite, Belgium, 09-06-09 Had this in the Mikkeller Single Hop tasting with Nelson Sauvin, Warrior, Simcoe and Cascade all up for the taste off. This poured hazy amber which really was the case for all of them, slight chill haze, clingy fluffy head. The aroma is a touch sweet but its fruity. Soft mouthfeel, some perfume, touch of furry bitterness, another nice beer in this one hop series. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov15 3.8
