The aroma has notes of grapefruit, oranges and caramel. The flavour has a light sweetness and it is very aromatic with notes of citrus, mostly grapefruit and the orange-colored varieties, malt and delicious caramel. It is very harmonic and nice. Malty and citrus taste. Nice fruity after taste. Nicely balanced overall... Medium carbonation level. Good beer... Side note this was sampled with mikkellers warrior and simcoe ipa... side by side... and imo was the best one overall.. riversideAK (2806), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2009 Thanks to bvc for picking this bottle up in PDX for me. 100th rate of this beer. Fuck Yeah ho! Aroma of pine initially. Grapefruit rinds kick in. Under the hop nose is a good amount of sweet malty notes. Becomes rather fruity on the nose. Pours amber orange with a great head and awesome lacing. Very fruity IPA. The malt base is moderately sweet and the hops are fruity and pretty bitter. The Cascade hops gave notes initially of pine which turned into a citrus rind bitterness - like chewing on orange peel or grapefruit peel citrus bitterness that lingered for a long time. It might have been a little too sweet for me, but I loved the hop profile and the lingering resiny bitterness. Magicdave6 (5559), London, Greater London, England

Alround rating: Plasticy, pine, grapefurit, sweeter pale malts, belgian yeast. The hop character doesnt seem to have liked the yeast too much and has given it a synthetic taste, but its still quite drinkable stuff. WinoInTraining (107), Longmont, Colorado, USA

Hazy ruby red with a medium, white head.
Soapy aroma with some notes of peas and, of course, fruity cascade.
Some berry-notes in the flavour along with salmiak. Not very pleasant mouthfeel. eaglefan538 (2405), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Poured a hazy amber-orange color with a very generous off-white colored head, great lacing all the away down, excellent retention, a very nice looking IPA. Nice strong citrus, piney hops. Flavor followed the aroma with orangey malts seemingly underneath the citrus and piney hops, finishing with a strong bitter element with some spicey hop zing with even a touch of healthy good teabags (the very rare ipa with tea bags that were very good, not detracting from the brew or just distracting w.r.t. the overall experience). A fun brew, mouthfeel was highly carbonated, very invigorating on the tongue. Surprisingly lots of flavor going on, despite the single-hoppedness. Citrus, kind of funky/dirty smelling, but not sour really, just dirty. Super bitter, just kind of smacks you in the mouth with hops. Very interesting, mellowed out as it warmed a bit, lots more citrus flavor developed as well.
