Commercial Description:
Originally brewed by Mikkeller, Denmark. Recent batch brewed by Mikkeller at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium.
The third in the series of single hop IPAs from Mikkeller. Brewed with Cascade, a true American classic hop type. This hop is less powerful than the ones used in the previous two single hop IPAs - creating a great balance with the beers other aspects.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pilsner, cara-crystal and munich), hops (cascade) and yeast.

Courtesy of Blazer06. Pours copper with gold edges with frothy light tan head. The aroma carries the classic cascade hoppiness with adequate spices, earthiness and solid citrus. I really enjoy cascade hops. The taste is similar with a very pleasing mix of spicy hops, earthiness and a juice glass full of orange to tangelo citrusy goodness. In the background are notes of sweet malts and a mild touch of caramel.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with an average, frothy white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cereal, meal), heavy hop (flowers, pine, grass, resin, citrus), heavy yeast (sweat, soap, earth) with notes of apple, pear, and apricot. Medium bodied, mineral texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness. Spicy bite.

Low price to quality ratio. Expected more complexity. But for a single hop, it shows off the bitter lemon citric characteristics. Poured a frothy head.

12 oz. -> shaker. Poured a dense, hazy burnt orange-amber. Amazing frothy off-white head, which leaves nice lacing on the glass, and a nice pillow on the surface of the beer. Smells of hops. Yes, Cascade hops. Citrus-y, earthy, and grassy. Tastes like grapefruit-citrus-y, with a mild caramel note in the middle. Strong bitterness on the end like any classic AIPA.

Hazy light golden pour topped by a creamy light brown head. Refreshing aroma of Cascade Hops, grapefruit and floral. Flavor is surprisingly mild. sweet and acidic with a bitter finish that’s surprisingly short. Texture is creamy with a dryness partially coming from the lively carbonation. Aroma is clearly the best feature here - wonderful dryhopping.

Bottled at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Clear amber, huge tight white head. Nose is soft spiciness, lime, dust and hints of caramel, not too fresh. Sweetish flavor, not the cascade I’d hoped for, dust, spicy hops, old fruits. Surprisingly stodgy, a missed opportunity.

Bottle. Pours mostly clear, significantly moreso than some others in the single hop series. Dark, brassy amber in hue, the body is topped with a thick head of smooth, ivory colored foam. Dense flares of lacing jut up from below, breaking apart slightly to jagged, obtuse spots. The aroma is odd for the style, notes of burnt toast and scorched caramel malt coming across very smoky, almost acrid. Estery lemon and pine needle hops lend balance, while bready Belgian yeast adds some pepperiness. Flavors show those same smoky crystal and burnt bread malts, again sharp and acrid, which intensifies the bitterness of the grapefruit, lemon, and pine resin hops. The finish is ultra-long and ashy, bitter hops and smoke sticking to the roof of the mouth. This one seems out of place within the series, and doesn’t really impress one bit.
