Poured clear, medium orange with a couple fingers worth of sticky beige head. The aroma picked up orange zest and Pinesol over a sweet, honeyed base.. touches of vanilla and earth were scattered throughout.. spicy overall and well-presented. The flavor found redder fruits, toffee, and a pinch of honey at the core, surrounded by orange and piney bitterness.. some cardboardey oxidation right toward the long, bitter finish. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. the oxidation and harsh bitterness hurt the flow a bit.. decent overall, but not as good as the others I’ve tried. Looked ok, and had a nose of slight perfume, light fruits, and a slight maltiness but flavor-wise it was just meh. Skinnyviking (4191), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Bottle. Sampled this side-by-side with the Warrior Single Hop. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was tall, dense, tenacious and off white with good retention and lacing. Pleasant hop dominated aroma. There was citrus (especially grapefruit), but I got more pine and earth from the cascade. The Warrior version smelled of sweeter citrus (ala orange), fresh flower blossom, and apricot. Medium bodied and dry with moderate hop bitterness. As with the nose, hops dominated the flavor. Pine predominantly, but also earthy green leaves. There were also subdued toasted bread and grapefruit notes. Solid IPA. dmac (1507), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Mikkeller Single Hop side by side comparrisons of Simcoe, Nugget, Warrior and Cascade. All four looked virtually the same minus a few intial head sizes......Dark amber bodied with a slight touch of orange and frothy off off white heads that left various degrees of lace.
AROMA:
Simcoe-caramel malts and grains with grass and citrus notes and a fair amount of sweetness upon warming
Cascade-earthy with bubble gum and cotton candy notes
Warrior-Citrus, soap and subtle mint
Nugget-Stronger hop resin notes then the rest, strong citrus prescence mostly grapefruit
FLAVOR:
Simcoe-Citrus rind mostly but a strong grainy prescence and some fruitiness upon warming....apricot mostly
Warrior-Earth and citrus rind
Cascade-Lots of earth and dirt along with some dirty chocolate
Nugget-Citrus, earth, citrus rind and bread crusts
The Palates were similar on most but the Nugget was the smoothest overall, the Cascade was the flatest, and the Warrior finished dryer then the rest.
