Aroma is fine sweet (honey) flowers, fresh herbs, Swiss Rucola herb candy’s and cognac. Taste is smooth and fine bitterish, it has hints of pines, forrest soil, caramel and lemon peel. I did not know that an IPA was so exiting. The taste of this beer stays in your mouth for minutes. I need more of this ! Thanks Carlo !!! lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 23, 2005 Poured in a Riedel Bourgundy glass the beers displays a the color of tropical hardwood. It is slight hazy red-brownish with a warm orange glow. The creamy froth stays long on the beer and has a slight beige-yellowish color. The aroma is refined and complex, it has hints of tropical wood, lots of herbs, chesnuts, heselnuts, forrest mushrooms, humide forrest soil, some pine needles and bark of a tree. The taste is smooth and has a medium dryness and a good balance. It has a taste that reminds me of unsalted brown bread with real butter spead on top. Taste is indeed very nutty and has a fine bitterness of nutpeel and wood. it also has hints of flowerpollen, the crust of raisinbread and the fine bitterness of sage, laurell, thyme and Cascade hops. This beer has a very good drinkabelity and, it has a very good refreshing caracter and the bitterness is very delicatly integrated in this brew. For real IPA lovers this maight no be bitter enough, but to me this is a Great refinned beer. Balance and elegance is the secret here. agr (19), Copenhagen K, Denmark

The aroma is very floral, hoppy and a bit roasty. The colour is a nice hazy amber. The taste... WOW! Very lively, full bodyed beer with a light sweetness and warming alcohol. HUGE amount of hops. The fine details in the hops comes through very clearly. My kind of beer. I like the idea about a "single hop" beer and i look forward to taste the other four. Keep up the good work! lululegrand (94), gent, Belgium
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 2, 2006 Deep amber color with copperish glow. Foam is creamy and longlasting. Aroma is soft sweet and refreshing. It has agorn aroma’s, flowers, herbs, mint and eucaliptus. Taste is round and elegant. It is soft bitterish and leaves hints of mandarine skin and spar harsh (Amber). Afthertaste is very complex and stays for minutes in you mouth. Again a great beer from this Mikkeller Brewery. Thanks Carlo (Lachesis) for introducing this range of very well made and original beers. Bugrat (56), Cph. V, Denmark
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 16, 2005 I sure as hell isn’t the first one to taste it, i know i wasn’t the first one to buy it (Though it was close!), but I seem to be the first to rate it here.....As i am not to familiar with the terms of describing a beer the Ratebeerian way I can only say: "bottled, very nice golden amber, super hoppy (cascade) aroma, very well balanced, just so my kind of taste of beer.... If you like my other ratings, be shure not to miss this one, as it is one of the best IPA’s I’ve had. And I’m proud to be the first to rate this "dogme" beer!! (have heard this is the first of a series of "one hop" beers from Mikkeller) toccata (70), grembergen, Belgium

Mint, flowers, whisky accents, and hops are very present in the nose. The taste is smooth and has crispy notes. Dry honey, wood, pine needles and hops. This beer has a long lasting afthertaste. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Dark orange body with healthy head. Hoppy nose from 10 paces. Prickly mouthfeel. Taste of hops aplenty, pine and some fruits, including citrus, although harder to detect. The first European beer (I’ve had) that could easily qualify as an American one. Hats off (coming from a hophead.)
