| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 26, 2009 50 cl bottle, from Olbutkiken. Pours mostly clear amber color, giving rise to a large, foamy beige head that diminishes rapidly leaving thick, blobby lace. Initial rush of caramel, tangerine and pine in the fresh smalling aroma, with mild floral and summer fruit notes as the head recedes. Flavor is hop dominant, with dusty pine resins and citrus rind with toasty malts in the background. Would have liked to taste a bit more malt for balance, but this is an unabashed celebration of the crisp and puckery Cascade hop. Medium body and prickly carbonation. These single hop beers are interesting studies in characteristic and flavor.

Clean light pineapple and kumquat on some slightly oxidized malt with an earthy plum and vanilla note. Medium bodied, big malty earthiness. Long bitter grapefruit and a bit of oxidized malt again. Possibly a bit old, but still tasty. tokyogoat (571), San Diego, California, USA

Pours a copper color with a thick egg shell head.
Nose is heavy with sweet caramel and toffee and bread.
Taste is straight ass. Good amount of caramel and sugar sweetness, the hops taste like rotten lettuce. Moderate bitterness, slight vegetable taste. Chemical aftertaste. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Bottle. Pale yellow, a bit cloudy liquid with a rather large, white head. Aroma is fruity with notes of citrus, sweet berries and some soap. Taste is surprisingly complex and has notes of northern forest rather than tropical paradise. Spruce and mire followed by an earthy finish with a herbal bitterness. Some notes of citrus and pineapple. Rather nice, but a bit unbalanced. Scattered lacing inside thje glass. Floral, honetsuckle nose with a hint of peach. Medium bodied and lightly coating the mouth. Semi balanced flavor but cascade edges out. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Nice crisp copper coloured body with a thinnish tan head with some large bubbles. Aroma of strong perfume, bright citrus and pine, grapefruit and a bunch of very mouthwatering hops - nice cascade scents, obviously. Medium-bodied; VERY assertive and bittering hops up front, definitely a pleasant taste. Aftertaste shows citrus and grapefruit with a bit of pine, but the potency of the hops really shines afterwards. Overall, a nice refreshing beer, that shows the cascade well and the balance absolutely perfect for the style. Reminds me of a very fresh hopped ale that is light and bitter. Definitely worth trying if you can find it - I liked this better than the Nugget and Simcoe. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Dean & Deluca in Washington (Georgetown), DC earlier today, sampled at home in Washington on 01-December-2009. Gr0ve (1412), Oslo, Norway
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 22, 2009 330 ml bottle. Amber. Hazy. Citrusy and slightly minty. Fruity with hints of apricot. Quite bitter. Medium-bodied, but perhaps a little too light for a beer this bitter. Overall a very tasty beer.
