Smells of wildflowers, hay, some sage, citrus. Tastes peppery and perfumy with a strawlike finish. I love this hop variety! Chrism86 (286), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 27, 2009 Pretty familiar with nelson sauvin, given exposure to kiwi beers. But certainly a unique hop variety, regardless of where your from. Pours orange/amber with a huge off white head. Lighter than both siomcoe & warrior i’d had prior. Nose has masses of tropical fruit: mango & passionfruit dominate, with herbacious/grassy hop undertones. Palate follows suite, huge tropical fruit notes that border on sweet. Mouthfeel is a little light compared to the other single hop ipas. Finishes with grassy/herbacious & slightly spicy hop bitterness. Overall, great display of the variety, but probably not ideally suited to an IPA. TBone (6850), Pori, Finland

Hazy amber color, good cloudy head. Lots of typical Nelson Sauvin character in the nose: tropical fruits, especially kiwi-fruity. Flavor has kiwi and mango, but also a bit too much yeast for my liking. Single hops are interesting, Nelson Sauvin is a great hop, but this one has a bit poor drinkability.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy amber with a massive off white/orange head. As I anticipated it’s nothing less than that beautiful Nelson Sauvin hop aroma...grapes, gooseberry, grapefruit and pine notes. It really is a sensational hop and Mikkeller has showcased this one tremendously. The flavour is juicy fruity hops. There’s not as much bitterness as I’d expected. This is pretty smooth on the palate with a slight dryness in the finish. A bloody good IPA...I’d be happy to drink this by the pint no worries. jhumphries69 (736), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2009 33cl bottle. Pours with a crazy-big off-white yellowish rocky head. The beer is cloudy orange with touches of ruddy red. The head consists of biggish bubbles which leave lots of lace. The aroma is funky with resiny pine sap and grapefruit. Subtle sour citrus and light acidic white grape, grass, and hewn pinewood. Subtle astringency in there, too. The flavor starts hoppy with funky Belgian esters - fruity and slightly medicinal. It is grassy and very grapefruity with mild bready malt character and moderate malt sweetness. Funkiness declines as palate acclimates - gets tastier and tastier as you drink it. Subtle earthy and floral qualities complement the bitter citrus, funky lighter esters, and malt sweetness at mid-palate. The finish is dry with light breadiness and strong grassy bitterness - all with a pleasantly sweet undercurrent. The mouthfeel is medium-full and creamy with surprisingly only a moderate spritziness from the CO2. Overall, this was an interesting and tasty IPA and an intriguing hop variety. 17thfloor (1508), Chicago, Illinois, USA

FACEFIRST INTO A BILLOW OF NELSON SAUVIN FOAM!!! Pours just like the other single hops, glowing orange amber with a tall foamy off-white thick frothy head. Sweet juicy nelson sauvin aroma, very grapey, little cat piss, fantastic! I LOVE THIS HOP! MMMM bitter spicy grape juice, actually fairly sweet which really brings out the juiciness, mangos, cantaloupe, honeydew, white wine, some grapefruit, just lovely!!! Medium bodied with smooth medium sized sizzling carbonation, foamy mouth-feel. 9.4.9.4.17
