| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Amber coloured with a huge off-white head leaving amazing lazings behind. Aroma is perfumey bright hops with tropical fruit notes. Flavour is sharp perfumey with light tropical fruit notes, De Proefs "house character" malt base with subtile caramell burried underneath yeast and hops. Finishes mellow bitter with a short aftertaste. Drinkable. Pawola22 (727), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2009 11.2oz bottle. Pours a clear, rusty orange colored body with a big, two-finger width, frothy and rocky, off-white head that collapses slowly and leaves a solid lacing. Aroma is wet flower petals and slightly resiny pineapples with a grainy, cereal caramel malt. Very sweet hops and fruits as well as malts. Not assertive or aggressive. Flavor is sweet and flowery as well. Sweet cereal caramels up front with a moderate lime and lemon hop flavor. A little sticky, tropical, and herbal, but these hops really blend well with the malts. They are sweeter and not aggressively bittered. Finishes with a higher bitterness than the initial flavors and dries with lots of fruit and all-around sweetness. Lingers for a lengthy duration with some flowery resins. Light to medium body and smooth. Overall, I have no experience with the Nelson Sauvin hop, but after this I may have to experiment with it homebrewing. Its a lime-y and very floral hop that has a nice bitterness without being overly aggressive. I liked this one a lot. FunkyBrewster (480), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Thanks 17thfloor! Pours a clear golden orange color with a thick creamy off white head that is hanging out for awhile. Aroma is crazy, white grape juice, fresh fairly green hops with just a bit of funky citric fruitiness and cheesiness. Flavor starts with a sweet grape character, and picks up a nice resin hoppy character in the middle. Gets a bit cloying with a straight up bitter middle that doesn’t have a lot of character, but finishes with some light citric hops as the bitterness fades. Medium body and a bubbly carbonation. Interesting IPA, not my favorite but a cool take on a different style of hop. bluebetty (113), Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice golden amber with dense off white head. Falls away pretty quickly leaving nice lacing. Huge aroma’s of passionfruit and grapefruit. Perhaps a little caramel malt also but hard to get past the huge fruit aromas. Flavours continue with the fruit flavours those not as strong as in the aroma. Also some malt sweetness. Nice beer. ketchepillar (480), Viña del Mar, Chile
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 19, 2009 12oz bottle at Irlandés. Nice and fresh. Aroma was stronger than that of their simcoe single hop. Lots of grapefruit and wet grass in the aroma. Flavor is similar to Columbus, in its herbal dankness. Super dank raw hoppy finish. Very similar to the Simcoe, but more grapefruit and more herbal dankness, a slightly heavier character. The simcoe has a brighter grassy and pinyness to it. This is slightly better than the simcoe. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 18, 2009 Poured a hazy golden-orange color with an ample white head and good lacing. The aroma was tons of fresh citrus hops along with some earthy pine. The flavor was dry, bitter hops with some underlying citrus sweetness. Almost medium in body with a bone-dry finish. Really good. markwise (1179), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Thanks to blazer06 for the share. Pours amber with a white head. Nose is pine, citrus, pineapple, and sweet malt. Flavor is the same. Interesting hops: malt backbone compounded with pine, sweet, light fruit, and pineapple. Medium bodied and enjoyable overall. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 16, 2009 12 oz bottle. Poured amber in color with a huge frothy sticky beige head that left great lacing on the glass. Aroma of oranges, citrus, light grapefruit and light caramel. Taste is fairly sweet with orange citrus, grapefruit, pine, caramel malt. The best of the single hop series so far.
