Big grapefruit, earthy tea leaf, caramel and resin aroma. Flavor is mostly grapefruit, resin and tea leaf, with a bit too much of all of the same; quickly turns to cat piss. Light medium body is extremely hop-dry, to extreme astringency. Quality brew, but pretty much a one note song; more malt or different hops and this would be great. screwball (802), Motala, Sweden
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Bottle. Body is hazy orange. Has a begie creamy big head. Aroma is just wonderful! It is sweet and fruity (apricot) and has the perfect touch of hop. The flavor is mild bitter. has hop, citrus and apricot. Palate is medium. The best thing with this one is the perfect balance between bitternes and the fruitiness. ajm (965), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 29, 2009 Bottle from Perry’s. Not bad. Aroma is quite tart and lemon-zesty with plant notes. Flavor is a bit shallow - really stays on the tart side. I understand showcasing hops, but the malt doesn’t quite do enough work for me. TwoDudes (77), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 27, 2009 Bottle from Pat’s Liquors in Porter, Indiana: This poured a golden amber body with loads of particulates and a hefty white head. The aroma was a sharp hoppy citrus bite - grapefruit, grapefruit zest, tangerines... As it warmed, a light caramel scent oozed out. Tart oranges and lemon zest were additions to the flavor, the sweet caramel bring overwhelmed with a balance more like that of a DIPA, but less harsh. The finish was a prolonged bitterness that made it easy to forgive all the swirly-floaters in the drink. Chrism86 (284), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Pours red/amber with a nice off white head. Nose has masses of citrus: orange, tangerine & grapefruit. Palate is light/med in body but full of flavour and hop impact. Orange & grapefruit dominate with a hint of caramel malt giving a very slight marmalade like character. Finish has medium resin/pine hop bitterness. Overall a great beer, seems quite complete despite using a sole hop variety. Easy to see why simcoe is highly regarded in US ipas. kyzr (1127), Belgrade, Montana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Cloudy amber pour with big sized off-white head. Big grapfruit nose. Flavor is huge on the citrus that flows into a nice creamy yet not too aggressive on the malt. Dry finish that lets the hops yell out! beernbourbon (316), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Gusher. Pour is murky brown with large tan head. Lots of floaties that I do not remember seeing in the others. Aroma is grapefruit with some pine and background malt. Flavor is more of a balanced pine and citrus hop flavor with a canvas of malt.
