| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 17, 2009 Pours a hazy peach color. There was a lot of black particulate matter floating around, so I strained it through a coffee filter (unbleached). Nose is of grapefruit, floral and pine. Taste recapitulates the nose. Silky mouthfeel with a pleasant5ly bitter finish. Sammy (4013), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 17, 2009 Small pricey bottle from Premiere Gourmet. Pours a lacey golden body lots of white foam. Citrus aroma.Mouthfeel is Ok, although post-tingling. Very good orange taste, superior IPA, drunk...quickly. tokyogoat (509), San Diego, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 17, 2009 Poured light amber with finger of white head
Smelled of rotten vegetables and body odor. Stench subsides to a piny hpop character as it sits in the glass, warms up and breathes a bit.
Flavor is rather earthy with some piney hop flavors. Little bit of caramel, earthy flavors, simcoe is definitely on the forefront. talon1117 (623), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 17, 2009 Updated: Jul 22, 2009Excellent pour with a very hazy, coppery amber color, notable sediment, and full, yellowish, creamy, fluffy head which is mostly lasting and leaves drippy lace. Nose is very nice with fresh pine resins, light rustic notes, light floral, white grapefruit peel, pink grapefruit, and faint caramel presence. Flavor is nice as well; pine bark and rustic notes are consistent throughout, other notes of faint toffee, pine resins, pink grapefruit, floral near the finish, and some mango. Palate is okay with a moderately light body, lively carbonation, and a sticky, slightly oily feel; I don’t know how something can be sticky and oily at the time? Finishes long and mostly bitter with the moderately high bitterness presenting itself fully with notes of pine resins, floral, and pink grapefruit with lingering rustic notes. An awesome IPA with a perfect bitterness to match nice finishing hop notes and only enough sweetness to balance. I don’t know which I like better, the Simcoe hop or Mikkeller. A great IPA with so much freshness to the hops, or should I say hop? Can’t wait to try the others in the series. Snojerk321 (1983), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2009 12oz bottle, sampled side by side with Warrior single hop. Big skunky nose right as we popped the bottle, lots of herbs and musty resin. As it sat for a few minutes it became more floral and much easier to handle. Flavor was quite high in bitterness while the finish was quite sticky. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 16, 2009 Bottle pours medium amber with a white head. Citrus, vinegar, and pine resin aroma. Sweet body with caramel, toffee, and sweet malts. Floral, citrus and pine hop bitterness. More balanced than the Warrior IPA. Very nice beer! marcus (1869), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2009 This orange beer poured with a modest off-white head and a floral aroma. The flavor is quite bitter, but the malts provide enough sweetness to create some balance. A good brew for hopheads. ChrisThomson (398), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2009 Pours hazy dark amber, with white head that lasts. Big hops jumping off in this one, with a bitterness that lasts forever. Has a full mouthfeel with sweetness with hints of tropical fruits.
