| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2009 12oz bottle, sampled side by side with Warrior single hop. Big skunky nose right as we popped the bottle, lots of herbs and musty resin. As it sat for a few minutes it became more floral and much easier to handle. Flavor was quite high in bitterness while the finish was quite sticky. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 16, 2009 Bottle pours medium amber with a white head. Citrus, vinegar, and pine resin aroma. Sweet body with caramel, toffee, and sweet malts. Floral, citrus and pine hop bitterness. More balanced than the Warrior IPA. Very nice beer! marcus (1885), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2009 This orange beer poured with a modest off-white head and a floral aroma. The flavor is quite bitter, but the malts provide enough sweetness to create some balance. A good brew for hopheads. ChrisThomson (405), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2009 Pours hazy dark amber, with white head that lasts. Big hops jumping off in this one, with a bitterness that lasts forever. Has a full mouthfeel with sweetness with hints of tropical fruits. nwilder (40), Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 14, 2009 Pours a golden hazy copper with a rough white head. The aroma is sweet with caramel and a distinctly fresh piney hop character. Nice. In the mouth, the malty sweet notes, come forth first but are soon joined but vibrant grape and pie resin elements from the hops. Finishing with a long stroke of sweetness, distinct bitterness and a slight wet paper note. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 14, 2009 Pours a translucent copper amber with a two finger billowy eggshell white head. The nose is fruity and citrusy, piny, mildly sweet, fresh and pungent hop nose, resinous. Liking the simcoe, glad I’m about to make a single hop Simcoe IPA. Flavor showcases a spicy bitterness, mildly sweet, citrusy, resinous/oily feel, combination of mango and grapefruit. There is an aspect to the Simcoe flavor that grows a little tiresome. Still a great IPA. golubj (1290), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2009 Bottle. Amber pour, somewhat hazy with visible particles and an average sized white head. Aroma is light resin, some citrus and melon. Flavor is the same, sweet malt, some melon, citrus, and resiny hops. Pretty bitter and flavorful. pineypower (1104), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 10, 2009 Bottle from oak tree. Pours out a nice slightly cloudy orange tinged copper with a fluffy two-finger off white head. Aroma is citrus and pine hops with some lingering sweet malt notes. Taste is citrus hops, pine, resin and a slight lingering malt balance. Bitter finish with a nice well rounder oily mouthfeel. Little pricey for an 11.2oz but well worth it.
