A massive, frothy head of beige foam lasts for ages, settling ever so slowly to a thick, clumpy, patchy layer. Sticky, hard-drying, jagged rings and flares of lacing coat nearly the entire glass. The aroma shows a malt base of toasted bread and singed toffee, moderately sweet overall, with notes of white grapefruit, pineapple, and resinous pine forming a unique, bitter hop profile. Flavors are similar, though less defined, with the toffee malt seeming a bit oxidized, and the muddled citrus-pine hops giving off a bit of astringency. Medium-full bodied, dry, and yeasty, the palate is a little astringent for my liking, and it drinks heavier than it should. Solid brew, but nowhere near what Mikkeller is capable of. Alround rating: Piney citrusy lychee tropical fruit of the hops, the body holds up excellently and you could go mad on this stuff. Best IPA for a while. Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA

first. label, simple and so nice looking. i really like the look of this series. know it has nothing to do with taste, but it is really nice. nose is damp wood, grass, cooked green vegetables, some spice. taste is the same, biting hop finish with notes of oregano and cooked vegetables. really interesting. gyllenbock (289), Stockholm, Sweden
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 15, 2009 Bottle. When I poured the beer into the glass a large and white foam was formed. The color was orange and rather cloudy.
The aroma offered mainly pineapple, apricot, alcohol and some herbs. . Really inviting and pleasant aroma, crisp, yet soft.
The taste, yes also it contained pineapple and apricot, but also a lot of grapefruit and a little sweetness. Bitterness was sharp, the aftertaste lingered long. Clearly, a nice beer. AmEricanbrew (1838), Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 14, 2009 Clear amber with a frothy off white head. Grassy spicy fresh hop aromas. Medium body. Good floral, grassy hop flavors on a solid caramel malty base. Nicely bitter finish. fschoening (6), Denmark does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 13, 2009 This is one really bitter IPA’s. To me, it’s very dry only seconds after I’ve swallowed it. It’s kinda citrus’ish and very hoppy. Not my favourite kind of IPA as I like it a tad more fruity and round in the body and aftertaste. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 13, 2009 33cl bottle at home: pours pale amber with a brown tint. Tall fading off white head made up of large bubbles. Somewhat stale caramel flows out of the glass laden with fruity hops. Slight berry esters dance around the hops and caramel. A nice orange marmalde note hangs around for a while. Very slight spring onion vegetal. Hops are less dominant that I would have thought. Upon tasting the hops come much more alive. Good levels of hop from behind giving a bitter kick through the sweet light malt and caramel. Nice smooth hop middle builds up to a long and somewhat spicy hop finish slight cardboard on the sides of the tongue. Touch of berry fruitness and some orange peel. I do notice some onion left on my tongue which isn’t so great.
