| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Unfiltered, hazy amber with a fluffy white head with nice lacing, nice retention with the floaties very much in suspension... Initially a crazy aroma of grapefruit that subsided strangely quickly into an almost woody, earthy aroma... Flavor profile is quite complex with citrus dominating notes of wood, nut, vanilla, and cream... Medium bodied with a long mouthfeel... For me, something was a bit off with the flavor, but it seemed to be the intended result... Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 13, 2009 I’m a sucker for the Simcoe hop so this is up my alley. Fairly dark for an IPA with a nice thick white head. I get peaches, tangerines, and grapefruit in the aroma. The flavor is astoundingly bitter with a big dose of grapefruit. Further investigation brings tangerine out and as it warms I get the feeling that the malts used are not typical of most IPA’s but I don’t know that for sure. Pretty freaking great. beerinmarch (2829), Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2009 From the bottle side by side with the Warrior hop version. Dark copper pour with a smooth off-white head. Pine and citrus hop nose, sweet apricot note, mildly spicy. Soft tropical fruit character to it, sort of like mangos or dried pineapple. Bitterness was more mellow then the Warrior, but still stronger overall. Really enjoyable brew. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Pros: Bottle conditioned, Excellent look, with a dark orange color and a massive and lasting cream. Terrific aromatics showcase the Simcoe hop at its core. Terrific feel in the mouth. Very strong, full, concentrated, intense. A big dose of hops.
Cons: Not a single flaw in this beer. It’s hard to imagine a better simcoe IPA. grandet (486), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA

Nice lacing. Strong grapefruit flavor, mango infused pine notes, hints of malt and caramel. Nice dry finish. This is a really good beer - not quite as smooth as Bells Two-Hearted... but very good. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Bottle. Best by 10/20/10. Pours a hazy yellow brown color, lots of sediment with a medium head. Flavor is mild Euro malts followed by a blast of intensely fresh grapefruit pine like hops. Light bodied, slightly chewy and very effervescent at the same time. Finish is dry and lingering. Very nicely done, everything I’m looking for in an IPA. Tripplebrew (496), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
