Pours a hazy yellow brown color, lots of sediment with a medium head. Flavor is mild Euro malts followed by a blast of intensely fresh grapefruit pine like hops. Light bodied, slightly chewy and very effervescent at the same time. Finish is dry and lingering. Very nicely done, everything I’m looking for in an IPA. Tripplebrew (496), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2009 hazy orange with nasty chucks of yeast floating around, that is just off putting. well yeah you figure, big simcoe aroma with its typical pine, grapefruit, mango ,cat-pee impression, good intensity! flavor reflects the impression, interesting is much more the palate, which is a wired mix of chewiness and fizzyness. a big body dancing over your tongue, like an elephant in ballet shoes hmm, ok balance of malt and bitterness for the style. Seems more like a test brew, then a finished product. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 8, 2009 Muddy orange. Dry, musty nose. Eggy yeast, dry grass, butter and olive oil scented hop. Excessively bitter and dry, pungent and musty. Moderately thick texture, creamy, yeast-heavy. An experience. Stew41 (1054), Caulfield, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2009 Looks and pours great; big fat creamy head with excellent staying power. Murky apricot orange in colour. Nose is very very lifted with bright and clean passionruit and grapefruit. Impressive. Hops really take over in the mouth although the passionfruit certainly lurks in the background. Sharper hops and bitternes come into play, the former a little green and raw to my tastes. Almost like sour grapefruit. Slight biscuity note to finish. Would be tough to drink a lot of this in one sitting. JPDIPSO (4926), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 6, 2009 Cloudy, fish food infested golden liquid. Tall, lasting, somewhat fluffy, light beige head. Fine scattered lace. Mostly grapefruit in the nose. HInts of clover honey and pale malt in the background. Hints of other fruit and zest as well. Floor malt start, with some earth and caramel. Hops takes over from there. More bittering than flavor, I sense. Grapefruit rind and pulp sneak around a bit. Lightly acidic and dry finish. Malt returns in the long linger, still a bit earthy and a touch husky, but plenty there to make its presence known. While a few new world twists, I find the flavors to be quite, what I would think to be authentic. Could not set with this all night, but a very good one to think about things for awhile. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2009 (Bottle) Pours cloudy amber with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is near medium malty and medium hoppy with tones of gooseberries, cat box, black currant leaves, mango, melon, papaya, pineapple, star fruit, light pine and bright grapefruity/tangerine-like overtones. Bready, toasted, light caramelly and light doughy. Grapefruit and melon juice flavour with undertones of tangerine, flowers, gooseberries and pine. Malt brings toasted, bready and light caramelly tones in the flavour as well. Light sweet and medium to heavily bitter with a lingering, numbing and pine spicy bitter aftertaste. The mouthfeel is soft and round. Medium bodied. Love Simcoe. Furseth (1333), Kungälv, Sweden
