Fine scattered lace. Mostly grapefruit in the nose. HInts of clover honey and pale malt in the background. Hints of other fruit and zest as well. Floor malt start, with some earth and caramel. Hops takes over from there. More bittering than flavor, I sense. Grapefruit rind and pulp sneak around a bit. Lightly acidic and dry finish. Malt returns in the long linger, still a bit earthy and a touch husky, but plenty there to make its presence known. While a few new world twists, I find the flavors to be quite, what I would think to be authentic. Could not set with this all night, but a very good one to think about things for awhile. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2009 (Bottle) Pours cloudy amber with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is near medium malty and medium hoppy with tones of gooseberries, cat box, black currant leaves, mango, melon, papaya, pineapple, star fruit, light pine and bright grapefruity/tangerine-like overtones. Bready, toasted, light caramelly and light doughy. Grapefruit and melon juice flavour with undertones of tangerine, flowers, gooseberries and pine. Malt brings toasted, bready and light caramelly tones in the flavour as well. Light sweet and medium to heavily bitter with a lingering, numbing and pine spicy bitter aftertaste. The mouthfeel is soft and round. Medium bodied. Love Simcoe. Furseth (1337), Kungälv, Sweden

The aroma hits me with very fresh passionfruit and the taste adds a discreet mango. This could be strange in a beer, but some hops have been used, since the perfect bitterness balance everything with a crisp body. This batch is very different from my earlier experiences with the Simcoe IPA but very much on the positive side. I gotta try to brew this myself. crondonik (32), California, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Updated: Mar 12, 2009Bottle. 1/4 inch thick head, some bubbles but mainly solid. color is golden and has a beautiful haze of hop matter floiting around. smell is of pungent stinging hops that produce resin, citrus, pine, urine, white pepper aromas. Does have a good malt presence to balance the hops. Taste is like taking a whole hop out of the boil and sucking on it. Sticky, piney, just hops, with a perfectley timed hint of the malt to remind you that the sip is over. I wish this was the only beer breweries could make, besides a good stout. xmarcnolanx (807), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA

I want to stick my wiener in it.
I could go without the claws.
Taste is oily, hoppy-bitter, dull attenuated maltiness (very little left over gravity).
Finish is bitter, oily, crisp.
Yes. I like. Fucking cats. andersand (392), Malmö, Sweden

Still very drinkable and yummy for the hophead. The best of the Mikkeller single hop serie (so far.) jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Bottle: A hazy copper pour with a nice, thick beige head. Aroma is pungent with citrus and sweet fruity notes. Weird, at first it seemed floral? Tastes more malty than expected; a light citrus and floral hoppiness takes over in the tail. Soapy and lingering finish. Just run of the mill. Thanks Bert!
