Feb 4, 2006 [A small in-between celebration for a number freak - this is my rating number 5555 - so I celebrate it with another great brew from Mikkeller] A very red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of grapefruit, and some grass, but also a slight dusty note. The flavor is sweet with some notes of caramel, which is very soon overpowered by the hops, which from the start is very bitter with sharp notes of grapefruit with all the acidity of the grapefruit.

Feb 22, 2007 Updated: Jan 19, 2009(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy, dark amber with a gigantic, dense and lasting, beige head - sorta shaving foam style. Fat and greasy aroma hops in the nose. Quite a full body with a solid base of caramel malt. Dry - almost leathery - notes of the Simcoe leaving a dry but not overly bitter finish. 010207

Mar 31, 2006 Updated: Apr 24, 2006Bottled. Cloudy reddish brown, rich head. Extremely intereseting aroma of grapefruit and red berries. Medium sweet with fairly soft mouthfeel. Lightly salty with plenty of red grapefruit. Very interesing hop character and more balanced than the Centennial IPA. Mindblowing!

Sep 14, 2008 From tap. Pours slight cloudy orange with a fully diminished white head. Distinct citrusy and sight spiced hopy aroma. Bitter ad dry flavoured. Bone dry hoppy really. Dry and citric to orange fruity finish. Very dry brew with a solid citrusy hops presence.

Dec 5, 2008 Draught at EBF 2008, Copenhagen, Denmark. [ as Mikkeller Single Hop Simcoe IPA ]. Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit, orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and heavy bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. 120908

Jan 16, 2009 Draught, 7%. Distinctly grassy hop aroma. Cloudy amber colour. Stable creamy off-white head. The flavour is a quite rough hoppiness, very grassy and quite bitter. There is a little sweetness to balance, and the mouthfeel is OK. The bitterness gets a bit much for me after a while.

Sep 16, 2008 Draught@EBF2008 (as Mikkeller Single Hop Simcoe IPA). Golden colour, small head. Aroma is apricot, some yeast and grass. Flavour is quite much the same. Wellbalanced.

Bottle. Clear orange coloured with an off white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, pine needles and hops. Flavour of malts, pine needles and hops. Hoppy finish.
