Nose is all about the piney reasiny Simcoe hops. I am sooo looking forward to this as Simcoe hops are my #1 fav (along with Centennial). Mmmm this is hop hop hopalicious. Starts bittersweet, ends dry and bitter and in between is lots of mouthpuckering goodness..flavors of pine, grapefruit, orange-rind, pine, more pine, some pineapple, some more grapefruit and then pine which last long into the glorious aftertaste. 2 minutes later i can still taste it. Yum fracking yum.
Body is medium/full, carbonation is medium. THis is one of the few beers i can say was worth buying at $6 for an 11.2 oz bottle! | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Updated: Mar 12, 2009Bottle. 1/4 inch thick head, some bubbles but mainly solid. color is golden and has a beautiful haze of hop matter floiting around. smell is of pungent stinging hops that produce resin, citrus, pine, urine, white pepper aromas. Does have a good malt presence to balance the hops. Taste is like taking a whole hop out of the boil and sucking on it. Sticky, piney, just hops, with a perfectley timed hint of the malt to remind you that the sip is over. I wish this was the only beer breweries could make, besides a good stout. mwelsh13 (483), Maryland, USA

Sweet body with caramel, toffee, and sweet malts. Floral, citrus and pine hop bitterness. More balanced than the Warrior IPA. Very nice beer! harrisoni (6830), Ashford, Kent, England

My favourite hop, plus these juicy malts and great hop sting with a mouthfeel of sherbert on the swallow. I had this quite a few times. 4.5/5 33cl bottle from BeerMerchants, thanks Phil l. Wow that aroma is pretty fantastic. The Simcoe’s make me go all crazy in the head. I am going to have to up the score by one. That is one sensational beer for someone who is a Simcoe crack head. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 7, 2006 Nice mahogony-chesnut colored beer with a warm deep orange glow and a stabile creamy beige head. Aroma is complex and very expressive. It has hints of humide forrest soil (truffle), nuts,Lemongrass, exotic wood (cedar, cambola, afcelia), also hints of smooth honey, nutmeg, cloves and ofcouse a good dosis of Simcoe hops. This herby, flowery and hoppy aroma is so well melted together with the fine and soft maltyness of the beer, No agressive bitterness at all. This beer has a great smooth and silky mouthfeel. It has a soft and dry-sweetish caracter. Loads of nuts of all kinds are bringing an earthy bite in this super soft IPA. It also has a buttery breaddy touch that brings roundness and caracter in the taste. In the finale there a most distictive bitterness of flowers, burned breadcrusts, and refreshing smooth hops. agl108 (509), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA
