| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2009 11.2 fl oz bottle purchased at Zipps in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pour is hazed copper orange with a huge fluffy 5 inch head. Head falls slowly with sticky thick lacing. Aroma of nutty earthy resin hoppiness, with nice toasty maltiness mixed in there nicely. Some nice sweetness in there as well, maybe pear fruit or really mellow cane sugar, in that realm. Great balance on the nose. Taste is the sweet, nutty earthy mild resin bitter hops, balanced with toasty maltiness. The finish lingers long with a caramel sweetness. Palate is medium heavy, mouth coating, lowish carbonation. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Bottled 33cl ordered from crackedkettle.com. Appearance: Hazy copper with a tall creamy light beige head leaving a beautfiul lacework. Aroma: Spring onion accompanied by overripe grapefruit. Flavor and mouthfeel: Strange spring onion-components accompanied by cardamom, overripe grapefruit and cumin. Unrefined bitterness. Bitter finish which is completely reminiscent of grapefruit. Overall impression: Distinct, strange and not all that pleasant. JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Good off-white head, collapsing over amber-copper beer. Nice fruity American C-hops’ nose with citrus, mango and lytchee, as well as pine. Pure hopresins, and sweet cakeglacing. Resinous, bitter hopflavour, but with amazing sweetish maltbacking. Only in the aftertaste, the bitter hopoils win out, leaving a near-metallic bitterness. Very slick & oily, and well-bodied. What I love most about this beer, is that it has both hopgift ànd maltbacking for a super I-IPA, but registers less than 7% ABV. It’s amazingly balanced for an "ordinary" IPA. But it ought to be classified under De Proef, if it’s really brewed there. daknole (3030), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Amber pour. Floral and pine aromas lead to a pretty benign hop palette(compared to the other single hop beers). Watery and light. Tropical fruit and floral notes are noticeable. Good, but my least favorite. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice orange with quite a bit of sediment. The aroma has a strong hoppiness. Notes of sweet malts, pine, and grass are there. On the palate, it is a little more carbonated than I expected, but also a bit chewy, different for an IPA. The flavor is a bit weak though, but it finishes with a good bitter bite. Overall, I was a bit disappointed in this one because warrior hops are really high in alpha. Therefore, I was expecting a super bitter beer. Rastacouere (5565), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 4, 2009 A deep amber to orange pour covered by a gentle slice of off-white foam with yellow leanings. Earthy and resinous aroma which possesses a fair dose of crystal malts. Rather chewy palate loaded with bready nuances, though with large-bubbled carbonation which give a refreshing kick. While the palate is dry, it keeps a certain candied tropical fruit side which fit the piney aspects like a charm, a foresty bubblegum which does not become tiresome thanks to the fitting dryness. It also gets more and more complex as the sips accumulate, unveiling spicy and yeasty notes along the way. Well, the base beer is pretty good, so adding a single hop dimension makes this whole serie fascinating. scrizzz (1337), kirkland, Washington, USA
