| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2009 Dark amber when held to light, this is medium copper colored otherwise. The Head is yellowish khaki. Strong grapefruit up front with some toast and almonds. The taste is fairly strong grapefruit and a little bit salty, especially in the finish. There also almond shells. Fairly light and one dimensional, this is still well made. If it was much much cheaper, I would buy again. Ober (1235), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2009 A clear amber colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. It leaves a nice lace on the glass. The aroma is sweet bitter hoppy, with a lot of fruits like citrus. In the back it’s floral. The taste is dry bitter with fruits like citrus, pine and orange. A little spicey in the back. The aftertaste is very bitter for a long time and dry. obxdude10 (1566), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 17, 2009 The Sly Fox in Pennsylvania is doing the same thing, making all these pale ales with just a single hop. It’s a real pleasure to sample another brewery’s offering who is doing virtually the same thing. This single hopped IPA is fantastic! The beer pours a hazy orange color with a huge and thick off-white head. There is a substantial amount of lacing left around the glass as well. The nose is full of pine, grass, orange peel, earth and of course some sticky hops. The body is smooth and enjoyable and features an extremely hoppy character. There are also definitive notes of pine, grass and grapefruit. The finish is quite bitter and dry, just the say a good IPA should be. And this is a really good one! tokyogoat (586), San Diego, California, USA

Nose of cotton candy, caramel
Tastes of unripened citrus. Fair amount of bitterness, nice crystal malt sweetness Snojerk321 (2027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2009 12oz bottle, sampled side by side with Simcoe single hop. Nose was much sweeter on this one with some caramel and nice pine and citrus. Flavor was mush sweeter and smoother, a very light finish. This was a much more easy going single hop while the Simcoe was much more aggressive. Cornfield (4980), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2009 Bottle from Binny’s Beverage Depot, Orland Park, IL: This pours a hazed orange body with a rocky head and chunky lacing. The aroma is a combo floral and citrus with rind covering a light caramel sweetness. The flavor’s fairly balanced, tipping more towrds the sturdy citrus/floral/pine hop bitterness. The finish is dry and solidly bitter. Nice. mwelsh13 (484), Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 16, 2009 Bottle pours medium amber color with a slight white head. Big earthy hop aroma with bitterness to match. Some citrus in there as well. Medium body with some breadiness and slight caramel. Seemed a bit to aggressively hopped, even for an IPA. Still very good.
