| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 3, 2009 One of the better of the series so far, but still lacking something to bring it together. Some descent citrus fruits, caramel maltiness but minimal, and notes of honey. Give me the nelson again! Listigovers (101), Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Amazingly beautiful pour, one of the nicest looking IPAs. Orange beer with a head that sticks around forever, really! Citrus aroma, good taste, both cold and warm. Dry, but not exceptionally bitter. Smooth when clear and even smoother upon addition of yeast. Very good beer, wish I had more than one bottle. The hop character is extremely citrusy, grapefruit notes prominent. Slightly one dimensional. BeerChaser0078 (367), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark amber with a creamy beige head with good retention and lots of lace. Aroma has lots of fruity hops with notes of passionfruit, honey, grapefruit, caramel and biscuity malt. Flavour features a nice balance between the malt sweetness and the hop bitterness; less fruity than the nose there are hints of citrus (particularly orange), pine and toffee. Medium body with a long dry finish. Maybe not my favourite from this Mikkeller range of single hop styles, all of which have been very good, but an exceedingly fine, drinkable beer and well worth getting again. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Pours with a golden orange body topped by a thick head with lots of lacing. It’s spicy with a slightly grassy hoppiness and a slight underlying malt sweetness. Medium bodied and smooth with a touch of astringency. blankboy (3239), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2009 Bottle [11.2oz] shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a murky golden-orange with tons of floaties and an average size diminishing fluffy off-white head. Nice lacing. Lovely resiny hop aroma along with biscuity malt. Flavour of resiny hops with quite a long bitter finish -- one dimensional but very enjoyable. Medium bodied. Pretty good stuff. AskForJenny (655), Ontario, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 28, 2009 0.33l - Toffee colored liquid, cloudy, yellow head of good size, nice lace throughout. Sour, vinegar nose with some yeast. Plenty of starch on palate, more than capable of supporting the vast hops on finish. Upper end IPA. abemorsten (179), Randaberg, Norway
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 27, 2009 Cloudy, Light amber pour topped by a frothy (even sparkling) white head that all but disappears. Familiar aroma (to a home brewer) of fresh hop pellets. But theres more here: Cherries, Respberries, flowers, Honey.Vinous. Very inviting.
The flavor is initially acetic transforming into acidity with a bitterness balancing through the whole swallow. Medium bodied with a dry watery feel.
Promises a bit more to the nose than it delivers to the mouth. Pricey. All in all a good experience, though.
