A good but odd pilsner. The beer pours a cloudy, muted golden-poppy color with a foamy white head that collapses into a small creamy cap. The beer really looks more like a hefeweizen than a pilsner, and this was a very conservative, careful pour, leaving a third of the bottle with all of the yeast sediment for later. The aroma is muted. It lacks the normal hop aromas that generally mark the style, and has more of a yeasty, slightly smoky nose. The smoke comes through in the flavor, too. I’ve never had a smoky pilsner before, so points for originality. The smoke is actually one of the nicest parts of the beer. Otherwise, the beer is good but not great. It lacks enough hop bite, but it’s rather dry, so it’s less of a problem. The beer is crisp but needs more carbonation to really push it further along this road. The smoke is the unexpected star. It’s relatively light and fits in surprisingly well with a light lager.

Beer poured a huge fluffy white head with a relatively clear golden, yellow body and strong bubbles running to the top. The nose was a bit of citrus and a touch of yeast. Taste was crisp, refreshing with a nice hop bite but well rounded with a citrus touch as well.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Lightly hazy palegolden, airy head. Fruity, soapy orangy nose. Dryish and well hopped with clean mouthfeel. Very hop aromatic, but with a whiff of ruber. With it’s hard mouthfeel and fruitiness it tastes more of a golden ale than a Czech pils.

It poured a hazy golden liquid with a medium sized foam that last a while and left lots of lacing. A smell of grassy hops and citrus. Had some stingy bitterness. Great lager but a below average beer. To much carbonation.

Pours light hay, almost slightly pinkish, with rocky white head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty, with ample citrus notes and freshy hoppy herbal notes. Flavor is a bit surprising: strong smokiness is immediately perceptible. The smokiness seems to mellow into herbal hoppy notes with a sweet, bitter, citrusy, and fruity finish. Mouthfeel is both dry and full. This is one of the better pilseners I’ve had- certainly one of the more memorable ones.

Hazy, straw coloured body with a decent head and clumps of lacing. Some citrus notes in the aroma and a bit grainy in the taste along with pleasant bitterness. A straightforward Mikkeller beer.

Bottle. Pours a beautyfull straw golden body with an impressive fluffy white head. The nose is fruity like apricot and citrus with malty notes and hops. There is a slight hint of barn-aroma like in certain american saisons. The taste has plenty of carecter. The first thing that strikes me is something like burned paper wich I believe comes from the saaz-hopping like the light buttery notes. The finish is deep bitter on the mild but dark side (Makes sense?.. like playing the guitar in minor key). The malty notes a present along with some spring flowers - grass-straws. The mouthfeel is medium to creamy when thinking of a pilsner. Another great and very drinkable beer from the brewer from Copenhagen

Bottle. Nice fryity malt aroma. Golden yellow colour with large white head. Flavour with more malt than ususal for a pilsener. Bitter aftertaste.
