| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/20 | Sep 2, 2009 Updated: Sep 3, 2009Bottle from K&L in Redwood City, labeled as "Czech-style pilsner." Pours a nice bright golden color with a substantial white head. Aroma is sweet malt, floral hops, and a little band-aid. Flavor is sweet malt, floral/grassy hops, butter, and...uh oh...loads of band-aid on the finish. Not good. At first I thought, "Ok, I can drink this!" but before too long, I had to make this one a rare drain pour. Palate was nice, light and crisp. This would be good without the band-aids! Maybe it just doesn’t travel well. I’d like to try this again in case that was a bad bottle, but just wish these beers weren’t so damn expensive. Perkeo (318), Portland, Oregon, USA

Good bready aroma with a hit of toast, yeast and hop bitterness and an odd lingering smokiness, not unpleasant but not entirely expected. I f you told me it was a collaboration between them and Spezial in Bamberg, I’d believe you! jbrus (4864), Delft, Netherlands
