Aroma is sweet and yeasty, with ample citrus notes and freshy hoppy herbal notes. Flavor is a bit surprising: strong smokiness is immediately perceptible. The smokiness seems to mellow into herbal hoppy notes with a sweet, bitter, citrusy, and fruity finish. Mouthfeel is both dry and full. This is one of the better pilseners I’ve had- certainly one of the more memorable ones. theisti (1678), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2009 11.2 fl oz bottle purchased at Blue Max in Burnsville, Minnesota. Bottled as Mikkeller Czech-Style Pilsner. Pour is hazed golden with a well formed 3 inch white head. Head is quite lasting, as it eventually falls, it leaves behind nice splotchy lacing. Final pour clouds it up with nice unfiltered yeast sediment. Aroma of soft hay and straw, dusty and natural. Also a nice mineral almost herbal clove presence behind that. Not an aggressive nose, but soft and very balanced. Taste is the soft straw and hay of the nose, with an herbal mineral and almost chalky edge to it. The medium reveals some floral hoppiness, which adds to and integrates with the mineral nicely. These two (floral hops and mineral) combine for a dry crisp finish. The aftertaste has a hint of wet woodiness to it which detracts a touch, though not too much. Palate is medium to thin, medium carbonation and the dry finish as stated. Really smooth, fresh and well integrated. Super soft, nice one. BDR (2164), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

A thick malty body with a very strong bitter character. A very dry aftertaste. Flowery haops and faint malts. willblake (2180), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Hazed honey golden color with small lingering white head. Beautiful aroma with fresh grassy hops, tons of doughy yeast, cut lumber. Even, aggressive carbonation. Flavor is lightly smoky, surprisingly, with herbal, grassy hops across the middle and finishing briskly bitter. Some unusual but not unpleasant waxy flavor, maybe that’s the yeast because it seems to smooth into a long lingering breadiness. Really nice beer, but I can’t imagine dropping the six bucks or whatever this was on any kind of regular basis as long as I have easy access to fresh Prima Pils. thornecb (1792), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 14, 2009 Pours gold into a shaker. Bright white head with excellent retention leaves spider lacing as it recedes to coat surface. Lemon and malt aromas. Firm and sweet with summer fruits upfront turning smoky and grapefruit in the lasting finish. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 23, 2009 Bottle. Pours a beautyfull straw golden body with an impressive fluffy white head. The nose is fruity like apricot and citrus with malty notes and hops. There is a slight hint of barn-aroma like in certain american saisons. The taste has plenty of carecter. The first thing that strikes me is something like burned paper wich I believe comes from the saaz-hopping like the light buttery notes. The finish is deep bitter on the mild but dark side (Makes sense?.. like playing the guitar in minor key). The malty notes a present along with some spring flowers - grass-straws. The mouthfeel is medium to creamy when thinking of a pilsner. Another great and very drinkable beer from the brewer from Copenhagen
