Another Mikkeller beer drunk to celebrate a century, this time my rating number 12,700. Bottled. A dark amber beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy, the hops lending it notes of spices, fruit, and pine needles, but also notes of malt and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol and hops, the hops lending it notes of lots of pine needles as well as medium notes of spices and citrus fruits, the alcohol gives the beer some very sharp edges. The finish is quite bitter. I find the hop profile a bit harsh. I wonder what age will do this beer, hopefully round the edges of the alcohol, and maybe also make the hops more harmonious.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Storm. Pours an almost clear warm amber golden with a handsome firm off-white head. Fresh citrus notes in the nose. Medium body, flower notes and some exotic fruit with a lightly astringent and bitter Brettish finish. Very refreshing. 280209

75 cL bottle. Pours unclear golden deep orange with a one to two finger thick, off-white and creamy head - slowly collapsing. Fresh floral hops aroma with a light dry brett accent. Flavour is peachy, grapefruit and citrusy. Distinct bitter dryness mixed with a brett dry base. Subdued caramel sweetness. Quite dry yet also refreshing floral finish. Goes fantastic with a light spiced tapas and creamy cheeses. The fresh floral US hops for me gives this beer a distinct lift in drinkability.

Draught at KØ09. Mild refreshing aroma. Hazy amber colour. Very small head. The flavour is quite caramelly, some grassy hops. The bitterness is a bit rough, and not balanced entirely by the caramel notes.

Draught at Plan B, Copenhagen
Light amber color; big creamy head. Wonderful aroma, hoppy, creamy, with delicate fruits (peaches, mango, sweet oranges). Medium body strength, but quite round mouthfeel, with very good, sweetish toffee flavor, perfectly complemented by the fruity hops. The final is well balanced as well, less powerful than the flavor, maybe missing some sweetness for my taste; in the end there is an aftertaste of Belgian yeast. Excellent beer.
