Commercial Description: This classic yet all but forgotten style of beer, black beer or "schwarzbier", originated in the Kostritz region of the former East Germany during the 15th century. In the 1870s, a Japanese brewer capitivated by the roasty, smooth flavor and opaque color, brought the style back to Japan where it is still brewed by the four major breweries. KAMAPI!
