Commercial Description:
Mill St Belgian style Wit is a refreshing beer made with a unique blend of ingredients. The soft texture and pale colour comes from the use of wheat. Coriander, orange peel and our special yeast produce the complexity and depth of fruity flavours contained within the glass. This beer is unfiltered. The resulting cloudiness gave rise to the term Wit, or White beer

Murky yellow appearance, persistant head. Scents of orange peel, clove, coriander, candies, bread. Flavour was disappointing after the smell. Badly balanced, did not go down well, taste mostly the wheaty-orange notes. Smells good, but not worth another sample.

Cask@Richtree, Toronto. Cloudy golden beer with a lightish head. The aroma is yeasty and lemony, and the flavour is dry, citric, watery and yeasty. Overall a good Belgian style witbier.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a thin fizzy head. Below average retention. Aroma is wheat and citrus with the banana touch of a weizen. Flavor is wheat, citrus, yeast, malt, apples and pears. Medium body.

Light yellow until I dumped in the sediment, a big foamy white cap with awesome retention and ropy lacing. I first thought that I smelt banana but I’m pretty sure that I was thinking I would find it, so my brain did. Slight floral hop and a musty spice dominate. Decent flavour which comes out when warmer (again), tart, some coriander, and a weak lemony citrus to finish it of. Standard mellow / watery taste but it doesn’t matter - I like this stuff. The mouth feel is kind of dry and seems flat. Mild and drying, it finishes with a muted spicy aftertaste.

"Golden coloured body with a very foggy look, cap is pretty much non existent so that is also true for the lacing. Aroma is very nice it has the typical banana buy its not chalky its smooth and creamy, wheat and vanilla round out the rest of the yummy smell. Taste is floral and has slight alcohol content. Mouth feel is light and heavily carbonated the after taste is sweet and citrusy. Malts are very light, the banana flavours are not as aggressive as other wit beers and there tons of orange in here. Its ok to drink but not the best I wish this was a little more smooth."

I tried this beer on June 1, 2009 after purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a cloudy light lemonade colour with very little head. The aroma had sour hints to go along with some citrusy notes and wheat. The mouthfeel was light to medium bodied (quite thin) with only mild carbonation. The flavour was sour wheat malt and some citrus. One of the worst witbiers I have tried

Had in bottle at Bottlescrew Bills, Calgary, AB. Pour is yellow golden with a sizeable white head. Aroma is spicy and yeasty. Some hoppy and wheat aromas are also found. Taste is citrussy with some spices(coriander is most prevalent, but also maybe a little cinnamon). Slight aftertaste, but it does not take away from the overall appealing nature of this beer. Mill St. did a good job on this brew.
