Roasted nose with distinct notes of heavily roasted coffee. Roasted taste with coffee, chocolate and hints of sweetness. Fairly thin. A bit one-dimensional, but if you like your coffee roasted, it’s a nice beer. TheCheeseMan (539), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Pours a beatiful dark brown, medium white head. Aroma is coffee dominant, which is no surprise. There are some matly aromas peeking through. Flavor is roasted coffee goodness, but the body is a touch too thin. Overall, a very nice beer. rlgk (3378), Vårgårda, Sweden

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2007 12 oz bottle, via dsnowden. Pours a clear dark brown under a small fizzy brown head that faded to a partial covering. Very light and very fine visible carbonation. Aroma is a nice blend of coffee, chocolate malt, and roast. A little burnt malt, light hops, and touches of smoke and chalk. Where’s the coffee? The flavor has almost a light lactic sour note over the heavy roasted malt base. Pretty minimal coffee flavor for a coffee Porter. Light bitterness lends a slight astringency. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a somewhat watery texture and moderate fizzy forced carbonation. Overall, I was pretty disappointed for a proclaimed coffee beer. This isn’t even that great of a Porter either. Gpnterojd (164), Orangeville, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Pours almost completely opaque black -- possibly a slight brown hue to it. The aroma is all coffee and chocolate. The flavour is much akin to iced coffee -- however, some malt and hops flesh out the flavour and body much more than what could be expected of iced coffee. A tad of bitterness. Quite good... almost more like a stout-flavoured coffee. I’m going to add some milk to the rest of my glass to see what happens. //Update: Adding milk was a distinctly gross idea. Jan Primus (160), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2007 An easy drinking porter. I love coffee so for me the coffee is subtle, the taste is great though. I wish it had a little more body. Not bitter at all, very smooth. Bobsy (194), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Very dark body with a muddied cream head. As expected, it packs a strong coffee taste - perhaps a little too strong. Nice bitterness.
