Distinct aroma of coffee with an ashy note. Medium-bodied with sweetish, roasted malt, some chocolate and distinct, burned coffee accents. Very subdued bitterness. 230807 kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2007 This is a tasty, sessionable Porter. The body’s about as dark a brown as you can get without being black. The smallish tan head soon reduces to a ring, but the rich dark malts, coffee, and milk chocolate in the aroma more than make up for it. It tastes of coffee with real cream, lightly roasted malts, dark caramel, and mildly bitter chocolate. Nice.

Not as overly malty as some porters, nor does it have any alchol presence or watery mouth feel. Maybe it’s straying a little from the style requirment, but it tastes allright by my standards. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 3, 2007 Courtesy of dsnowden. Pours clear dark brown with nice tan head. Big coffee aroma coming from the glass that seems a cut above Folgers crystals with some sweetness lingering behind. The flavor hits all at once with roasted to burnt malts, malty astringency, coffee grounds and hints of molasses. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA

Added to my RB list to check "Ontario" as a beer state/province consumed. Surprisingly tasty porter (I don’t know why I was so skeptical) with plenty of roastiness from both malts and coffee beans. Thin body was a saddening feature. matt7215 (998), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
